Providing birth control to women at no cost substantially reduced unplanned pregnancies and cut abortion rates by 62 percent to 78 percent over the national rate, a new study shows.
For those that are opposed to "free" birth control....is it worth the cost to society if it substantially reduces abortion? Does saving money trump saving lives? I am curious why the idea of free birth control isn't being promoted by the right-to-life crowd.
Instead of making abortion illegal....lets make it obsolete!
I just think it is sad that so many Americans are so brain dead that they decide they can't afford to pay for their own condoms which not only help prevent pregnancy but also reduce the chances of catching VD.
Reponsible enough to have sex, not responsible enough to pay for their own birth control.
They will probably spend more for the booze they use to get the person into bed than the condom costs.
But you are right, it does make economic sense. The children being born should be wanted.

No, actually it ISN'T ... Birth control will be paid for with the policy premiums that women are already paying.
At Planned Parenthood, it's provided on a sliding scale based on the income of the person... If some tax-dollars go to that--GOOD... That means fewer people needing abortions.
I'm paying for a sh*t-load of military things to bounce-the-rubble that I don't want to pay for. I guess we all have to make sacrifices.
