How many agents from other departments do you think follow some of these higher ups, in person and on line? I bet he had a half dozen + full time govt employees just watching him.
I wonder how much we spend to monitor our own govt. officials?

I don't really get his resignation - he claims it's an honor thing (come on - we're talking about the CIA!!!).
Amen BB
This affair happened more than two years ago.
Does anyone really think that the CIA didn't know about it? PULLLEEEEZE.
Only my theory.....but I suspect someone was holding it over his head to acquire an outcome and he was tired of living it.
I suspect he is a very honorable man and time will tell just how honorable he is.
It is going to be a very interesting year.
Subpoena him into a court to testify as to what happened in Benghazi.
I suspect what really happen will scare many of us. JMO.
edited to add..... (I hear this tiny voice saying over and over.....impeach)
WASHINGTON -- The resignation of CIA Director David Petraeus has brought a sudden and unexpected end to the public career of a four-star general who led U.S. troops in Afghanistan and Iraq and was thought to be a potential candidate for president.
Petraeus admitted to an extramarital affair in tendering his resignation, which President Barack Obama accepted Friday.
Petraeus carried on the affair with his biographer Paula Broadwell, a reserve Army officer, according to several U.S. officials with knowledge of the situation. They spoke anonymously because they were not authorized to discuss publicly the investigation that led to the resignation.
The FBI discovered the relationship by monitoring Petraeus' emails, after being alerted Broadwell may have had access to his personal email account, two of the officials said.
The New York Times reports that the agency began investigating after receiving a complaint about "harassing" emails sent by Broadwell to a third party, who has not been identified.
It's one thing to have an affair...(And I hardly think that, in and of itself, would have been sufficient reason for him to step down.) However, when it escalates to the mistriss trying to hack into his emails, possibly get to classified material, and then turning into harassing emails...I'm not surprised it triggered an FBI investigation...
Gee, I know... Let's do like the folks on the Right did on the Benghazi affair... Let's SPECULATE based on the morons at Breitbart.com, WorldNutDaily, FauxNews, and all the others...instead of waiting to see what the investigation shows... It worked so well the last time...
'Stay away from my guy': The harassing emails 'sent by Petraeus biographer' to 'SECOND lover' that sparked FBI probe
The woman at the center of the David Petraeus cheating scandal warned another woman to 'back off' and 'stay away' from the retired general in threatening emails uncovered by the FBI.
Petraeus quit his post as director of the CIA on Friday while offering an apology over the affair, allegedly with his biographer, Paula Broadwell.
His apology came as reports show that the affair blew up in Petraeus' face after Broadwell allegedly sent the e-mails to another woman whom she accused of getting too close to him.
The recipient of those emails, fearing for her safety, contacted the FBI - which found that Broadwell had sent them.
'[Broadwell] clearly thought something was going on' and thought she was in a 'lovers triangle.'
Little is known about the recipient of those emails, including her identity, but the paper reported that she was not Petraeus' wife.
The timing is very interesting. Was the press going to blow the story? Is Petraeus trying to avoid throwing the current admin under the bus by avoiding the Benghazi hearings?
