Not really. On his trips to Martha's Vinyard and Hawaii, the expense of housing his staff at nice hotels is much higher than a place like Kennebunkport or central Texas.

But 4 million is peanuts to this administration, they spend that in a hour. (Unless you want security when you are an American ambassador in Libya.)

Yes, just like it cost Bush-41, Bush-43, Reagan, and all the others...

Next outrage-of-the-day....?

The conservitards even blasted Michelle for her "luxury" Aspen ski vacation spending... when she stayed in the home of the Aspen Ski Resort owner for free.

That $4 million figure is all hype and not based on fact, but they gotta have something to bitch about.

The Reporter estimates that, when you factor in the cost of staff, Special Forces, equipment, and local police, the vacation will cost over $4 million. The President pays for his own rental, but everything else - including waterfront housing for the security team - will be picked up by taxpayers. The trip will also rankle the locals, since toney Kailuana Place is built on narrow, single lane roads which will be choked by the Secret Service and an entourage of 22 vehicles.

The biggest expenditure will be round trip airfare aboard Air Force One. Considering that the plane costs nearly $182,000.00 per hour to fly, and the flight to Hawaii will last around 9 hours, that's almost 3.3 Million dollars in airfare alone.

So it would be cheaper for the country for Barack to stay in DC or at Camp David? Especially if he is expecting to fly back to sign a major bill. 6.6 million and a lot of jet fuel How many carbon credits is that?

Obama tries to be the green president but since he uses Air Force One more often while campaigning he used millions more gallons of jet fuel.

So what I'm hearing is that if your guy isn't president, he shouldn't take vacations and spend taxpayer money.

On the other hand, your guy is just wonderful, and he vacations where he normally lives when not in the White House. Gee, but isn't Obama from Hawaii? Didn't he live there? Besides, the Bushes had their money from a few generations back, hence able to buy those expensive properties when land was cheaper.

It's a perk of being President, for ANY US president. Get over it.

Gets tiresome after awhile, don't it.... :Snooze

I wonder if RMoney had won, if the taxpayers would footing the bill for trips to Bermuda, the Caymans and Switzerland for him to go visit his money?

Maybe he can locate that darned birth certificate while he's there. I know. I know.....sorry but I had to.

Anyway....if you are looking for anything other than a campaign speech from the man, don't hold your breath. Neither he nor his staff can even SPELL the word "plan" much less generate one. And the man doesn't have anything that even remotely resembles leadership qualities in his character.

He's an empty suit. Always has been, always will be. Empty suits don't move towards a challenge, they run away. Come to think of it, if I was him I'd rather be in Hawaii myself.

The man may be President but he's no leader. It's not in his nature, but if you need a campaign speech....he's just what the doctor ordered.

He put his plan on the table...TWICE... in detail ... He's available as soon as the 'Baggers get their heads out of their collective backsides. And this time, he's pretty much holding all the cards... I can hardly wait to see it go off the cliff, or get signed with upper tax-rates restored... I don't much care which.

Your assessment of "empty suit" is just about what I would expect from people who think RMoney/Lyin'Ryan and/or Bush were "better than nothing"...

And today instead of working with Congress he was talking at a toy company. Obama the eternal campaigner.
