Forget the Fiscal Cliff

And in the middle of the fed’s financial crisis you have President Obama. His mainstream media face time suggests that he’s leading the galant charge to liberate America from the impending fiscal terrors; but, as the US finally makes the trip over the edge, the President will be in beautiful, sunny Hawaii, soaking in a 20-day, $4 million dollar vacation

Oh, no... The outrage-of-the-day is that the President is taking a Christmas vacation?... (Like Bush-1 in Kennebunkport; Bush-2 in Texas; Reagan in California...ad nauseum...)

Before he goes to the islands, he is making another campaign sweep across America to try to convince Americans to strongarm their reps in Congress instead of actually meeting with Congress. BHO, the eternal campaigner.

And Team Obama is plugging the vacation so when they finally hammer out a deal, Obama will have to fly back as the guy to actually sign the compromise.

So would you rather that he not come back and sign the legislation if Congress does get it's act together?

Yes...It's called "The Bully Pulpit", and it's one of the perks of being President of the United States. You go out and sell your ideas to the public--that just elected you, based on those ideas... And if they get a deal, he will fly back and sign it...Just like any of the other presidents would have had to do....

Maybe he should just stay there. Stay. Don't come back. :Whistle

Perfect scenario! Then America would blame him for bringing the Clinton tax hikes back to middle America.

I read that "$4 million vacation" story. They're counting a lot of salaries of people (military and staff) that will get paid the same whether he takes a vacation or not.

Oh, you mean the Bill Clinton tax-rates that saw 23.1 million new jobs created, and one of the greatest periods of prosperity in the last 30 years?...THAT Clinton?

They aren't tax-hikes... They're letting the UNPAID-FOR cuts expire... But thanks for playing...

They always do... It wouldn't matter if he went to Hawaii, or Martha's Vineyard, or across the street... The salaries and expenses are pretty much "fixed" wherever he goes...

But it's so much fun to have an outrage-of-the-day... :Whistle
