"Christmas" Tree Issues

It's that time of year again, when we need to be politically correct and say "Happy Holidays" and such. Here's an article out of Rhode Island. "Holiday" Tree? Pretty sure I'll always say Christmas, in all aspects of the holiiday, including trees. Aren't there more important things to worry about?

Funny how nobody pushes saying "Peace on Earth" anymore.

When I was a kid. Peace on Earth, good will toward men. There used to be "Peace on Earth" signs lit up, as I recall.

Whoever said you need to say "Happy Holidays" anyway? I've heard a lot of indignant hype about it, but can't recall ever hearing anyone, politician or not, actually advocate for saying HH over Merry Christmas....

Listening to Jeopardy the other night. Politically Incorrect was actually coined in the 1930's Soviet Union. A little trivia. I use Christmas Tree because that is what it is. And I use Happy Holidays when I send out cards since I send them to different faiths.

Because, you know, Christmas trees are in The Bible. And if you don't have an actual fir tree, use ammo and bullets instead! That's the way to get in the Christmas spirit!

Jesus would be so proud.... :faint:

R, you do know holiday's evolve, right?

For example, because of Dicken's Christmas Carol, a Victorian Christmas has come popular, and aghast, I know non-Christian cultures that celebrate selected parts of the holiday, like Japan.

And I love the whole "PC" happy holidays move. Don't they realize, holiday is short for holy day?
