I don't have a CCW and have never had an occasion where I wished I had one. I have also never shot anyone, so we're even. And carrying a gun for personal "protection" against assault isn't mentioned in the 2nd Amendment.

If the Tea Party takes up arms against the U.S. government, would it really require boots-on-the-ground warfare to control? What are they going to do -- misspell us to death? These are the folks who march around demanding that the "government keep its dirty hands off their Medicare." How hard could it be to outsmart them?

Let's come up with a simple alternative. If conservatives take up arms against the federal government, what's the easiest way to stop them?

How would YOU crush a Tea Party insurrection?

* Hold a massive garage sale on the day of their planned attack

* Replace their Lipton's with Sleepy Time

* Change the penalty for treason to mandatory retirement in Taxachusetts

* Stamp "Property of China" on their war fund dollars

* Lure them into a stadium with free tickets to "Jesus and His Technicolor Dinosaur"

* De-fund their war effort by refusing to buy any more hillbilly porn

* Replace US soldiers' bullet-proof vests with baby bumps

* Decode their secret plans by running them through spellcheck

* End the war by getting Obama to negotiate in whiteface

* Nuke 'em after negotiations break down between rival leaders Joe Biden and Terry Schiavo

* Just send in Wanda Sykes with a catapult full of watermelons

Gee, if I'd actually said that, you would have something to worry about...

Which part of this are you having trouble with?

LadyJazzer wrote: I have already stated, about 5 times, very clearly, that I want semi-automatic assault weapons gone; I want high-capacity magazines gone; I want to see body-armor and similar police gear restricted from sale to the public. Will it get passed? I doubt it. But that's what I would like to see, and that's what I'm going to keep pushing for, through my elected representatives.

Make that SIX (6) times...

My issue is your blanket statements about gun owners.

I'm a gun owner....and have no problem with any of LJ's statements. What statements do you take issue with.

It might not be taking arms against the federal goverment, might even be a corrupt local goverment like the Battle Of Athens.

Methinks the Lefties trust their goverment way too much, look how little tranparancy there is in the current administration.

Comrade Fred, please cease and desist. Your implication that the Gubment is going to take your weapons is entirely unfounded, trust us we are the Gubment and we are here to improve the quality of life for all in the collective.

p.s. - Hand over your guns and any other weapons you might have (besides, it will be against the law soon so we are doing you a favor, you don't want to be banished to a work camp), the Gubment needs to ensure you can't resist or fight back. It's for the good of all so comply or suffer the consequences.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
