PS: He settled, at least so far, because it's called "compromise"... (A concept that the teabaggers are totally unfamiliar with, but at least McConnell knows how to spell.)

:pop See? Point made. :woo hoo: Winners don't compromise. Didn't you say the Republican party was dead?

Would that be the "winners" that refused to pass on Boehner's "Plan-B" with a $1-million limit?...So they had the $400,000 limit crammed down their throats?

Yeah, I guess that would be THOSE "winners"... I guess to teabaggers any form of compromise is weakness...Too bad the teabaggers had to compromise on $400,000 when they wouldn't on $1-million. (Oh, wait... That was the "lame-duck 112th Congress teabaggers...)

:pop See? Point made... (Since your only desired goal in this forum seems to be to score "points"...)

But hey... You now have 17 fewer teabaggers in this 113th Congress... And 3 fewer senators... And filibuster reform practically done... We'll see how much power, and how many "points" you can continue to score.

So what is the latest ruling on calling people teabaggers or GOTP. I find it offensive. Is it allowed or not. And what is the ruling on using nics for the Pres, Speaker of the House etc.

Could these be posted somewhere so I have an idea of what the regs are that aren't part of TOS. Thanks.

Teabaggers seems offensive, once the connotations became obvious the teapartiers stopped using the term to refer to themselves. GOTP, a little more questionable. I'd call it the equivalent of calling it the Democrat party rather than the Democratic party. It's a term that sounds offensive, but can be readily defended.

I find many terms applied to the liberals on this board to be offensive. I will continue to use the term that the 'baggers applied to themselves, and I can back it up with articles and videos.

If you really want to go down the road of trying make every post "not offensive to somebody on the board", then we've already become Pinecam, and I'm not interested.

See, I find THIS to be absolutely offensive:

I'm also fed up with people who quote material information from the internet echo-chamber and never post any sources to back up their information. I doubt that I'll be seeing any remedy for that any time soon... However, I'VE learned that if you are cagey, and "talk ABOUT news stories, which is perfectly allowed and does not require a source and is not subject to Fair Use guidelines", (even if you use lies, clueless and fact-free information), it is not a violation... I will be using that to my advantage in the future.

Do you think we will see the end of "the Socialist Democratic Party" any time soon? nope, I didn't think so.

My point is that there are certain phrases that are designed to raise hackles. It's a heck of a lot easier to point fingers than to look into mirrors. So far everyone complains about the other guy and staunchly defends their own transgressions. If you like the nastiness, just say so and stop blaming it on everyone else. There are no victims here, participation is voluntary. Just keep in mind that intransigence has killed lots of other boards. If you have belonged to more than two or three of them, odds are you have contributed to their demise. Yes, it's harder to have an intelligent discussion than a partisan rant. All that is being asked is that the latter be kept in the ring so the former can take place in the Courthouse.

It won't happen chickaree....just like your previous post singled out the term "teabaggers" any liberal here can single out any number of phrases by the right that are explicitly designed to get a reaction from the liberals. It's what we do.....it's what is done on most any board that has political discussion, and by comparison ours here are pretty tame. If posters are forced, by public opinion, or constant correction, to hold their political punches, then I think we will lose a lot of posters on both sides. I have no real problem with the political terms.......the general insults (but I reserve the right to throw them back, or point them out), my only issue here is, and has always been, personal attacks on individual posters with truly denigrating terms. We haven't had that here for quite a while, it used to be a problem and was dealt with. Sure, we get some personal insults....and the poster gets called on it, and usually it gets ignored, and off we go to another rant and rave.

Quite honestly I don't find the political rants and raves here nearly as problematic as the other board where the usual suspects will jump all over a new poster who comes in asking for help finding their stray dog.......they get accused of everything from neglect to animal cruelty. Or a poster asks a question and the board turns on them rather than helping them. We don't get that here that I have seen.....and for that I am grateful.

Please people, lets not turn this into a polite tea party (no pun intended). That's not what politics should be.....

Fred.....the country is WAY too divided and the election did NOT change that factor. With gun control/20 children's murders it will
become more so. From my perspective all the social boards (285Bound,Pinecam etc.) are just REFLECTING the whole of the nation.

I think the "airing of the grievances" may help some if they think about it and reflect. Sorta like Fesitivus! :)
