The last few days, any better?

Does anyone feel that the interaction has become any more respectful with our discussions and various attempts at self moderation and checking people since we have talked about peoples' perspectives on the topic more?

I get a sense things are more respectful and a conscience eye on our language could set us apart, even if many people continue to disagree productively. I like the idea of focusing some of our largest anger at those outside of the board (like the politicians and gunmen we disagree with that really drives so much of the passion on this forum). I recent post by Lady Jazzer did just that, showed passion and allowed her to show off her writing style without attacking others. This was called out as offensive, but in reading it, it inspired me to feel like things had changed. I felt like she payed attention on where she was focusing her aggression.

Just my opinion, any thoughts? ...and I am by no means claiming I did anything except for bring it up again, I feel our discussion and peoples' diverse ideas just made us think about our interaction more. If it is happening, I hope it lasts and gets better.

It seems there is ALWAYS an ebb and flow.......things go along for awhile and then BAM......someone becomes abusive and then it

I think the trick is to let roll off your back and move on. I tried to bump AspenValley's Last Post,because it TRULY is the core of
the issue. In the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter.....it is RARE that you will change someones' mind,RATHER, you just
are exposed to different points of view and can discard some and absorb others....it is an exploration process.JMO

The Right still hasn't figured out that they lost the election, and every day is just a steady stream of Rightie-echo-chamber outrage-of-the-day postings blaming things on the administration that they haven't even started working on... The man hasn't even taken the second Oath of Office, and the piling-on hasn't slowed down one bit. It's going to be a loooooong 4 years for you guys...

And you really thought that keeping up the same stream of hatred would get you a "mellower" result?

I have a bridge to sell you... (It's in Washington State, and it doesn't go anywhere, but I understand it's still up for sale....)

If Obama won why did he settle for only taxing 400K and above? And why hasn't the debt limit been increased to a new record.

PS: He settled, at least so far, because it's called "compromise"... (A concept that the teabaggers are totally unfamiliar with, but at least McConnell knows how to spell.)

The usual right wing disruptives are probably even worse. You have Fred deflecting every thread off topic with made up facts, Toad going off the deep end about the Emperor Obama and Aki becoming even more vulgar and insulting. But let's see, they apparently are not the problem here, according to those who like to pontificate about the bad behavior of certain select posters.

Apparently you didn't get the memo. Use full name nics or don't use them at all. Notice I didn't shorten or use yours?

As to better not really. There is some minor improvement but it won't last. I think the owner, sorry I initially shortened her nic and can't remember if she has a space in it so I will just leave it out, wrote a very nice post in the other thread which tells something about the business. Glad to see it. But as far as posters on this board improving, it isn't happening. Look at this post just quoted - "The usual right wing disruptives" does nothing to help the conversation.

Now that I have some inkling of what the regulations as opposed to TOS are I am willing to comply with them. I also know that I will never rely on what the owner tells me in a PM when I reported some posts as being what will be allowed as, other than shortening or changing nics I did what they did because it was ok with the owner.

If it continues to be this crazy to figure out what the regs or what people want, sorry I don't read every post or thread and they aren't documented here where I can find them easily I can play elsewhere. I don't need Ra__ or whatever he is calling himself now or that journalist person always hunting me down trying to be rude and abusive. It seems to be a favorite game of theirs. And you wonder why people won't post here. I think some have said why very clearly in several of the threads. Go back and read jf1acai post in another thread. He very clearly states why he won't recommend this site.

IMO, those who are usually respectful and make productive posts continue to do so...

those who usually post in an inflammatory manner continue to do the same.

Improvement/change? I don't see any.
