THANK YOU for this post......common sense (the bolded) is NOT dead.
The Brady Bunch has been throwing around this statistic that 40% of firearm sales are done without background checks, but when you look at the numbers 40% doesn't hold up. In many states if you have have a handgun permit card or a license to buy guns which requires a background check to get, you don't go through another background check for each firearm you buy.
(In Colorado, you still have to go through a background check every time you make a firearm purchase.)
