I was at King Soopers the other day and I found a note on my truck:

I don't like what you did to this truck. Adding a trailer hitch and a topper? Deadhead and Trout Unlimited stickers? There are scratches and a few dings and that windshield might be a driving hazard. I see you don't keep the interior clean. There is dog snot and grime on the windows, dusty dashboard and all sorts of papers, fishing and camera gear laying higgledy-piggledy about the cabin. What is wrong with you?
Signed the previous owner.

I like my truck just the way it is now. It gets cleaned up on occasion, and stuff gets moved around to better suit the needs of the drive and passengers. There is always room to be made for more passengers. Sometimes it gets hard to find things with so much stuff in there. But, it is much safer and more reliable and comfortable than some of the other vehicles on the road. It has shown me many things and has taken good care of me and I have had a bit of fun with it. And while it does get a bit dirty and needs occasional maintenance I think it is a vehicle I will stick with for a while. I have other vehicles that I like to drive too, but this one is special.

No offense to anyone.

:like: lol good one!

What you call the thing you cover a truck bed with has a different name wherever you go, more than Coke. In the NE or the NW, most would not even know what a topper was. Canopy in the NW and Cap in the NE. Not a dig, just interesting.

I'm from around here and I've always heard it referred to as a shell.

It's a shell.
It's a snowmobile, 'sled' is only used by flatbiller flatlanders.
They're called pops, or soda.
'Cowtown' is a compliment.

Midwest terminology is toppers. If you are looking for a "shell", you might find one at a place in Denver called Suburban Toppers.
