I don't think so. They are just adding the expense of more bureaucrats to already the most expensive healthcare in the world. I don't think it will be horrible but I also don't think it will be much better. I do expect more coverage for the chronically ill, but they are going to spread that cost among the healthy. And the unhealthy.

It is like a lottery. A few people will get better coverage, but everyone will pay more.

PLEASE understand that it does NOT matter what the plan is called/WHO implemented or
originated the plan....our healthcare delivery system is so broken and fubared that NOTHING
will fix it.....this partisan bullshit is so non-productive and STUPID......the problem is much
deeper/complex than your (collective) posts. The graph, corruption,greed permeates the
ENTIRE spectrum of healthcare and it does NOT matter who you are or what your plan covers
your HEALTH will NOT be addressed in adequate matter.

!.) The interconnection between the drug companies/doctors/hospitals is a PRIMARY factor in
your cost....the relationship/connection is based on $$$$$.(grease the palm and slide the $$$
over)

2.) DOCTORS, Specifically G.P.'s primary care doctors are burn out/overloaded and can NOT
maintain patient load....they are vacating the vocation in droves.....

3.) There is a degree of SELF RESPONSIBILITY that is required....you can NOT take a pill for
everything that ails you and expect to be healthy....their are SIDE AFFECTS for that decision.
But yet, the advertisements for drugs are PROLIFIC and on going....

4.) IF you want a eye opening piece of information about just how fucked delivery care is....
look no further than Oprah W.....(a woman who is worth BILLIONS and can purchase the
absolute BEST health care available to a human being.)....several years ago she was UNhealthy
and experiencing many health problems....went to her doctor/s...MANY tests and procedures
later still NO real understanding of what was wrong.....(much $$$$ spent ATTEMPTING to find
the problem.) It was ONLY when a friend asked her "have you had your THYROID checked?"
did a resolution FINALLY occur......NO ONE had thought about her thyroid.....

Of course, all of this is JMO......

It must be truly sad to live Toad's world of hate, venom and irrationality. He is typical of many conservatives, choosing to surround themselves in their venom rather than enjoy the day that is before us. I found it interesting that several recent polls, including one by Fox News found that almost 10 percent more Republicans were against ObamaCares than were against the Affordable Care Act. My brother in law is a superintendent of schools in a small town in Texas and in order to gain support of any activity he just tells the locals that Obama is against it. It always wins hands down in those instances. What gets me is that individuals such as Toad go on about how brilliant they are and how successful they are, but it is obvious from their rants that they do not investigate such things as the ACA themselves but merely recite obviously false talking points. Toad and the others here who rail against the ACA have yet to provide a single factual assertion why the ACA is going to doom the country and cause every living human to vanish off the face of the earth.

So of those issues in your list, which ones do you believe will get better under the ACA?
1. Will the actual costs of care come down considering the medical device tax and nothing has been done to address tort reform (or will less people sue doctors now?)
2. Will more doctors start covering less patients or will it be the other way around?
3. Will more people start being responsible for their oown health or will more feel like they have a magic medical safety net?
4.Will your Oprah senario get better or worse... and why?

Contrary to the broad brushers around here, I don't think the ACA is a bad idea because it came from the left or Obama, I think it's bad because it was poorly thought out. This government has been doing studies of the Keystone pipeline for many years to ensure the are no bad "unintended consequences", but for a much more important and massive issue that will affect every American, the ACA was built in about 18 months and four years later there are still more unknowns than the first moon landing. But I really do hope I'm wrong and will be willing to eat my own words if this actually works. But if it doesn't work, I guarantee nobody on the left wil accept an ounce of blame... the blame will be aimed at those on the right who opposed it.
