We've seen a lot of revolutions in the history of the world, but I've never seen one fought because the people were given affordable healthcare... :rofllol

Are you sure about the word "affordable"? Even ACA fans are surprised to see that it is only affordable because of government welfare. Millions more American families added to the benefit rolls.
Thank you Barack, for putting more Americans on food stamps, long term disability and even giving middle class families tax credits so they can afford their health insurance. Record numbers.

Bwha ha ha ha ha ha!

I just spit my Kombucha all over my keyboard

So you think giving middle class families tax credits so they can afford their health insurance is enough to spark a bloody revolution Fred? Are you really willing to die to prevent getting a tax credit? lol

Bulls**t

It boggles my mind that the GOP doesn't see how such a tactic radically empowers the people who most disagree the GOP's most dearly-held principals.
At BEST, such tactics become a perpetual cycle of stalemate.

That kind of Tyranny of the majority?
So do you believe it is legitimate for one wing of the legislature to shut down the Government to obtain legislative change that it cannot obtain through the legislative process?

How, exactly, is what is currently occurring in the legislature not a part of the legislative process fish? When the Democrats shoved the ACA down the throats of the populace, despite the fact that the majority of their constituents expressed their opposition to the law, and they then elect a group of representatives specifically to oppose that law in the wake of such shenanigans, how can the actions of those they elected to oppose the legislation be taken as anything other than part of the legislative process?

PF,
If it was your President protecting one of your cherished beliefs from Republicans in the Senate and House railroading some legislation through, you would support that example of checks and balances.

I've looked at some of the quotes for those "affordable policies" Yeah, some of the working poor get a tax credit that wipes out the cost, but have you seen the deductibles on some of these? $6000??? That is huge, especially for an "affordable" insurance policy. A poor person still can't go to the doc unless they have a major issue.

Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!

Unintended Consequences? The poor can afford to buy health insurance finally but they can't afford to actually use it. And this is better how?

:like:

Family went to the website and based on income $30,000 for two they qualify for a subsidy. Even with subsidy, unfortunately they cant afford to pay the amounts required monthly for the Silver plan and if they take the Bronze plan they have so much up front deductibles that they can't afford to use it. So yea, it really is helping a lot of people. :sarcasm:
