PS,
VL & LJ are such good Kool-Aid drinkers, they were told ACA was good so they fell for it and damn the actual facts.

Thank you Barack, for putting more Americans on food stamps, long term disability and even giving middle class families tax credits so they can afford their health insurance.

Bwha ha ha ha ha ha!

I just spit my Kombucha all over my keyboard

So you think giving middle class families tax credits so they can afford their health insurance is enough to spark a bloody revolution Fred? Are you really willing to die to prevent getting a tax credit? lol

#Goodlord!

I can just see you guys taking up arms and going to war with the government because they wanna give you something back with your tax dollars for a change... You waterheads are so beyond absurd that its halarious ..

The founders were wise.....checks are in place.....the majority in the PEOPLES HOUSE are shutting down the Radicals in the White House and Senate. The people essentially have FULLY funded the feds - 22 bills in Senate. What now Marxists ??

I guess to that small minority out on the far right fringe, the rest of the people in this country would look like radicals. That is a pretty warped view of reality deltamrey, but not unexpected. Like I posted in another thread, that kind of arrogance will destroy the republican party.

Not true at all Big Doughy. We have the best health care system out there in exchange for spending more per capita for it than the socialized countries do. That is why everyone from those countries that can afford it come here to get their care rather than obtaining it in their own country. Even the UN study that you are attempting to distort, as all liberals have been attempting to do for some time now, noted that reality. Perhaps, in our melting pot, multi-national, multi-racial population we don't have as high of a life expectancy as a mostly homogenous population such as the ones exisiting in Europe by and large do, but that has little, if anything, to do with the quality of care our system provides. Perhaps our success has enlarged our waistlines beyond the other countries as well, another factor that is independent of our system of health care. Our poor are not poor by international standards, only by our own. They receive, on average, enough subsidy at the expense of others that the majority of those near the poverty line are almost lifted to median income levels. The poverty line doesn't include the individual welfare benefits they receive, it is calculated before any subsidies are received.

Think of that for a moment. A family of four is considered to be living in poverty when their annual income is below $22,800 a year. The average SNAPS benefit is $200 a month, bringing their income to $25,400 a year. They must pay 30% of their monthly earnings, or roughly $570 a month, towards their housing. The average rent in Denver right now is about $1K a month, meaning they receive another $430 in rent subsidy, bringing their effective income up another $5K a year to $30,400. The average TANF payment is around $80 a person, another $320 a month for a family of four, bringing the total to $34,200 in income. What do you suppose the free/reduced federal food program in the schools saves them in groceries a month? A dollar a day per kid maybe? And we won't even get into the average federal tax return of monies that they did't pay in taxes to begin with, which is another subsidy worth at least a couple thousand dollars a year, if not more. All told, with their subsidies, that family of four living in poverty has an effective income approaching $40K a year. That is poverty in the Union in 2013. And now we want to add another what, $5K or so to subsidize their health insurance?

The median income in our Union is roughly $51K a year. The "poor" are subsidized to an effective annual income approaching 80% of that income level, nearly 90% including the (un)Affordable Care Act. That's poverty in the Union today. Now mind you, a family of four that is working their tails off to earn that same $40K a year isn't going to be qualifying for as much of a subsidy as the other family is, but they will both have about the same effective annual income after all the subsidies are added to what they actually earn on their own.

The "progressives" want to inculcate a picture in your mind of that family of four living on only $23K a year. How they have been successful in that endeavor boggles the mind. Try telling someone that a family of four living on $40K a year is considered "poor" by American standards and see what kind of response you get.
