Keep diggin boys! Keep diggin!

I'm lovin watching the wheels fall off of the Republican Bandwagon :rofllol It took awhile but the ignorant, undecided, fence sitting middle of the road morons are starting to see Republicans for what they are. Those people are starting to see that its not a great idea to elect people that hate government, to run the government..

The ongoing stalemate over the federal government shutdown and the prospect of debt default has damaged public confidence in the country, its economy, and in the Republican Party specifically, according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

At the same time, the survey underscores the intense pressures on congressional Republican leaders to find a way out of the stalemate. For while the fallout has affected the entire country, it has inflicted particular harm on the GOP.

Most Americans blame Republicans in Congress for the shutdown, compared with 31 percent who blame Obama. In the shutdown fight that pitted President Bill Clinton against House Speaker Newt Gingrich in the winter of 1995-96, the proportion blaming Republicans never reached 50 percent in the NBC/WSJ poll.

Just 24 percent of Americans express a favorable view of the Republican Party. More than twice that many, 53 percent, express an unfavorable view. It is the worst showing for the GOP in the quarter-century history of the NBC/WSJ poll. Fully 70 percent disapprove of the job congressional Republicans are doing

btw- this is a pro business right wing source

I heard it from my Vietnam Nam vet life long Republican brother, who has worked for the Ohio GOP. This morning he told me it would be a cold day in hell before he ever votes for a Republican again.

Americans have very short term memories.

That's what Democrats thought in 2010, fortunately the Republicans are unlikely to learn from the Democrats mistakes.

It's that kind of arrogant thinking that got the Republicans in this mess, and that kind of rhetoric that convinces voters that the fault lies with republicans. You all are your own worst enemy. Keep it up.

That is because most people are stupid and just want to blame some other group.

For generations we have not demanded a balanced budget...to the point where we don't even consider it anymore.

If we don't find a way to live within our means, meaning that the total expenses and loan payments are less than the tax revenue, we are done...we will keep arguing...just like any group or family who is dumb enough to think another credit card is the solution to the being decades underwater.

Both sides look constantly silly as long as they overspend and that is ALL BOTH sides do. To state this as an R or D issue would be about as smart as framing any issue using the Rs or the Ds. You leave out the yous and mes that say constantly that the next generation will deal with it. We are not debating right or wrong we are debating which future generation to screw and perhaps we should focus on the one thing that MOST americans DO agree on, it should get kicked to another future generation and celebrate what we have in common. I disagree with all you selfish losers, but I think as long as you all agree, you might as well party over it.

The other thing is that we are not going to default on our debt if we don't borrow more, we will slash social services and lay off bunches of govt workers. It is cute though, that people like to make the not paying our debt threat. Usually you eat less before you stop paying the mortgage....you certainly stop going out to dinner. We are still on the cruise ship eating the upgraded dinner. There is plenty of belt tightening that will occur domestically before we don't pay debts. The other obvious solution is an immediate change in taxation to keep things whole. Actual default is down on the list, but will still be marketed as #1 to the party following idiots.

Not matter what, it is the citizens that are screwed if we don't spend within our means, though I guess we often use sports to distract us when things are down, so keep paying attention to your two party sports so that you don't have to face the real issue....you just want more more more.

Rs and Ds.....I really fail to see the difference you guys seem to spend all your time on.

Even my multi millionaire rightwing nut brother who buys his kids Ann Coulter books as Christmas presents told me "he's done with the party". This has done what years of family pressure and knowledge dropping couldn't do.
