Nice to see you back archer.

I'm not a Republican but the way you talk you make it seem like they are the only ones in play and how liberal media wants to portray them as the bad guys. Got news for you, the Dems are just as culpable.

Frankly I am part of the small percentage who is quite happy with the way things are. Never used to think that way, but the more Congress can't agree, the less they screw things ups in the legislature, passing bills they can't fund. And until the American people hurt enough and long enough they won't get off their duffs and pay attention. So I am in favor of more strife for everyone so that they will get out and vote, I don't care if it is for Dem, GOP or Independents or other so long as they get someone who represents their views. Throw out the entire Congress. Too bad we will only be able to do that with some, not all in 2014. But it is a start.

You are reading too much into my post....it is not my assessment that the Republicans are to blame for this mess it it's the perception of the American people. What I find so amazing is that the GOP refuses to see what they are doing to their own party. I suspect that if the democrats were taking the brunt of the blame they might be more willing to make a deal. But, right now they are winning in the court of public opinion and have no incentive to give up anything.

It's sad that this is how our country is run, but it's the new reality.

Oh, and I agree to an extent with your post, they all need to go, and we need to keep throwing the bums out till they learn how to work WITH each other, not against each other. I believe in balanced government, no one party with all the power, but that doesn't work when hate, and pride, and arrogance rule rather than what is good for the country and its citizens.

Ok I hear/read what you are saying. In the court of public opinion Repubs are taking a beating at the moment. But where do most Americans get most of their information? From the liberal media. They have no concept that the DEMS are just as responsible for this horrible mess. So if we want the American people to get a better assessment of what is going on, maybe liberal media needs to look at how they present the issues. And maybe we need to let liberal media know that their objectivity isn't objectivity.

Isn't FOX News the most widely seen news?....they are hardly part of the liberal media. No, I think how the Republicans in charge have come across in all the sound bites have sunk their ship. I don't think you can blame the media on this one, the wounds to the republican brand are self inflicted.

I agree they need to keep throwing the bums out. But our government was specifically set up so that it has checks and balances with at least a 2 party system. They won't always agree and I don't want them too. This is how we got into this mess agreeing too much and spending more than what we take in. I would rather they disagreed and didn't vote for more deficit.

As for one party with all the power, we vote them in and sometimes we then need to reassess and vote them out. And maybe that is what will happen to the GOP and also to the Dems this next time around.

No, Fox News is not the most widely seen news.

NBC, CBS, and ABC News each kill Fox News (and CNN or MSNBC News) in ratings and it's not even close (roughly 5-9 times more viewers).

FOX NEWS CHANNEL MARKS DECADE AS THE NUMBER ONE CABLE NEWS NETWORK
FOX News Channel (FNC) achieved a rare television milestone today in clinching ten years as the number one news network in cable television. Having surpassed CNN in January 2002, FNC has now reigned over the cable news universe for an entire decade while continuing to outpace both CNN and MSNBC combined in total viewership, according to Nielsen Media Research.

More Americans are watching Fox News over any other television news outlet, according to a new Gallup poll. CNN follows a close second while stations such as ABC and MSNBC fell flat with only one percent of viewership from surveyed Americans .

There is also a poll out there showing FOX news viewers as being the least informed news viewers, so perhaps there is some cause and effect going on here.
