Oh my goodness... now the big-bad-super-rich-climate-destroying-wildlife-killing-sticky-gooey-black-rancid oil companies have infected Ed Schultz's mind...

Based on safety I think the President should give this project the stamp of approval. Environmental groups obviously think differently. And so do the majority of people on the left. But this newsflash: We’re not getting out of the oil business in America. It runs our economy. Do we have climate change? Yes we do. But the construction of this pipeline does not mean we are going to consume more as a country.

I’m looking at it at from a safety aspect. I don’t explosions in small towns or any towns, or any kind of train derailment carrying oil, where there are fewer federal inspectors than ever before, and also the fact that these railcars are old and the infrastructure hasn’t been upgraded. So a brand-new pipeline, to me, makes sense.

David Sirota is quite upset with Schultz for caving. But maybe Sirota didn't get the updated media talking points?

Since Ed Schultz now supports it, I now oppose it. :smackshead:

The progressives have squeezed about as much goo out of this as they could, now the new talking points are going to be "look what we are doing for the country." I want this to succeed, but at the same time it leaves a rancid taste in my mouth to see the administration kicking this around for years and using it for a political football.

Progressives have no concern for the middle class, just ideology. And whoever gets thrown under the bus along the way, oh well.

LOL. Why talk about old news. We should be talking about how the ACA is creating millions of jobs. :Thud:

Shultz just proved that he has at least a minimal amount of common sense. He's stating the obvious for anyone with a brain... the oil will be extracted and it's either going to be transported by rail, by truck, or by pipe and one of the methods is safer than the other two.

Shultz should be worried about losing his job... there is no room for common sense on MSNBC.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Time will tell. It will be interesting to watch. Per my OP, I do not believe he would have changed his talking points without marching orders.

You could be right. Maybe the head of MSNBC is finally starting to realize that they can't compete by only catering to ultra left nutbag ideology.

Now that I do not believe. I think it would have had to come from the White House or some fraction in the White House. The proof of the pudding will be if other left wing haters and propagandists start softening their positions.

I never thought of that Bob, but it does make the most sense. That's why Obama is so obsessed with FOX... not willing to be a propaganda arm of the WH.
