It's never too soon to rewrite history

"The problem with fixing the historical reputation of presidents — in both meanings of “fix”: securing in place and repairing — is that it is done by historians. That problem is manifest in Politico’s recent invitation to “ten leading historians” to write a paragraph on “Obama’s rank in the pantheon of American presidents.”

If journalists write the first draft of history, one of the striking things about this collection is how little any of the ten historians revise in any way the conventional wisdom that permeates most campuses and is expressed by such bubble-surrounded sources as NPR, the New York Times, and the pundits of MSNBC.

It is tempting to attribute this ideological conformity to Politico’s own liberal bias, since no superhuman effort would have been required to find an unorthodox historian or two to break the monotonous repetition on display"...

Oh PJmedia is being absolutely stupid.

Journalist and pundits write glowing stuff about Obama everyday and have written running "historical" commentaries since the dawning of journalism.

I don't see any lack of real historians able to shift through years of populist tripe and actually construct a reasonable recollection of historical events.

And all history is subjective anyway.

How come you hate historians?

"Former House Majority Leader Claims God 'Wrote The Constitution'"

Speaking of rewriting history... You can't make this stuff up... But I'm surprised it took so long for one of these clowns to make such a pronouncement...

I particularly like the part of the Constitution that "God wrote" that defines slaves as "three-fifths of a person"... HE must have cackled at that one..... I guess you can hoodwink those ol' southern boys with just about anything.

I wonder of God was responsible for the Amendments too? That one on Prohibition was a doozy....

And I'm surprised it took so long for this clown to jump in here with an off topic comment. Hater.

Hi, Capt. Irrelevant... I also hear that they're taking up a collection to have the rest of the books in the Bush Liberry converted from large-print and crayon to readable text.... (We're still looking for the room that deals with "Missing WMD's"....)

But in the meantime, here's a rewrite that REALLY deserves to be immortalized:

"English was good enough for Jesus when he wrote the Bible." -- Michele Bachmann

...With a Foreword by Half-Governor Moose-Meat, Sarah Palin herself....

Back on topic: I think you need at least 20 years to determine if a POTUS did a good job. See if the decisions he made stood the test of time.

Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.

More cut-and-paste BS (toned down) from LJ (with no link either).

http://www.politifact.com/texas/statements/2014/feb/12/facebook-posts/bachmann-didnt-say-bible-was-written-english-and-n/

But has been demonstrated before, LJ uses fact check sites when they support what she says, but then claims they are wrong with no supporting evidence when they disagree with her.

Nobody in this country is that patient, I will admit, but you can see and quantify individual fubars to form a pretty good idea of where the legacy is headed.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Lies are really all that you have, aren't they. The Consitution never defined a slave as 3/5 of a person. That is simply a lie that the collectivists hope will undergo a fundamental transformation and become truth if they repeat the lie often enough. What the Constitution does say is that for purposes of representation each slave will be counted as 3/5 of a person, which is not even close to the lie you are attempting to perpetrate. If you remember your history, the parts of it you are not attempting to rewrite that is, then you will recall that those in the South wanted them counted in the same manner as everyone in the north was. And yet, for some odd reason, the people who were most opposed to the practice of owning slaves to begin with were the ones who didn't want them counted as people at all.

Oh, you mean like the fake quotes of Obama saying "I am a Muslim"; or "admitting he was born in Kenya?"....

I remember now....
