Maybe not immediately, you don't change long ingrained habits and preferences over night even in children. But abandoning the plan to improve the health of kids because it doesn't produce immediate results is short sighted and just plain wrong. These kids are worth the effort.

"IT'S FOR THE KIDS!!!!!!!" This song is worn out.
I happen to believe that what you call junk food is perfectly good food. Yet you want to say this food is better than that food. Ridiculous.

Hey, you're an adult, at least I am giving you the benefit of the doubt on that, you want to fill your body with crap and chemicals that masquerade as food, be my guest. I'm glad you aren't in charge of food service for the schools.

Are you saying that all the food served in the public schools are organically grown with no GMOs, no synthetic pesticides and chemical fertilizers? I find that amazing!!!!!!

Or, I find that you are very naive.

And how about the meat served to the school children? Is this meat from organic livestock that had access to the outdoors and given only organic feed? Is the livestock not given antibiotics, growth hormones, or any animal-by-products?

Come on, liberals. If you are going to do a thing, then go all the way. Let's really get down to "healthy" food!!!!!!

And how about implementing a day of fasting to clean out the blood and digestive system of the children?

And we must not forget that children also need a pro-biotic.

Then we can graduate to having all of the school children become vegetarians.

Arlen, no where did archer even step around the edges of your ranting. You slam the door shut on reasonable conversation when you go in the ditch like that.

That is because I believe that the whole proposition of Michelle Obama's is ridiculous and any attempt to consider it as sensible is foolish.

Guess it is a matter of interpretation MG. Arlen made some very good reasonable points.

What is healthy food and who should be implementing it? Once upon a time it was the parents who made these decisions. Some how we forget that the gubment and school districts work for us.

I'll give Aunt Esther credit for her "Lets Move!" program. At least it was an effort to get kids moving.

Archer, I do agree with you that the young parents got lazy (and dumb), but there comes a time in your life when you have to take some responsibility and get off your butt and do something. But again, here I go down that old Taboo road of Personal Responsibility.
