The best way to explain why I am not in favor of the Tea Party is that they promote Fear and Hatred--especially of our current President.
I see the movement as being not For anything, but rather Against Obama.
They tout their views against things like the Dept of Education, Social Security, the EPA, etc., but do not offer any solution except to tell lies like Obama wants to ban fishing in the US, which is simply not true. They are happy to say that Obama is a communist, that CNN stands for Communist News Network, that the government in office now is raising taxes when in reality, Obama has lowered taxes for about 95% of working Americans. I am against their views that Healthcare should not be changed and made available to those who can not afford it and that since Obama is for this, then he is a Socialist, communistic fool.
That quote above makes no sense at all to me- seriously - all of those questions have been answered by the tea party. I'm not going to explain it again because the tea party offers solutions for all of those and it's pretty clear to me just reading here and there about it.
I do not use the socialist word as an insult to Obama, I truly believe he is one. He also show many signs of agreeing with communists.
Obama has not lowered a single tax for any American - period. Name one. Just one. If you count all the wreckless spending - he has doomed us to higher taxes and a lower standard of living - every one of us.
I'm suprised at the poll so far- two claim to be communists and one socialist - well - at least they are honest about it and admit it. Why they can't just find a nice little communist country to move to - I don't know - well maybe it's because there are very few of them left, the world has seen communism's dismal failure.
Socialism is just "communism light" and doomed to the same failures, I just hold out hope that it isn't us (USA), but we seem to be the only ones headed in that direction as the rest of the world is moving to market economies.
I more accurately identify myself as a libertarian - for many years now, well ever since a certain president said "read my lips".
I see all the same ideals that libertarians talk about in the tea party - and although I have never been to a meeting - they would find me in agreement with 95% of their platform. I tended to vote republican in past races - only because a real conservative choice could not be found.
I'm surprised there aren't MORE Indy's...........with as much discontentment that seems to be out there, you would think the Indy's
would be gaining.JMO

Tea Party's are pretty much indys...just conservative ones. "independents" is really a misnomer. Almost all people lean towards something... That makes 17 "indy's" out of 37...pretty large if you ask me.
Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!
Please keep in mind our next meeting of the 285 Corridor Tea Party Group is October 20, 2010 at Beaver Ranch on Foxton Road, in Conifer, with the actual meeting beginning at 7PM. Our special guest speaker, just 2 weeks before the election is going to be Tom Tancredo. From reading your reply where you said you had never been to a meeting, I thought I would go ahead and extend a special invitation to you to attend this particular meeting to see who and what we are all about.
Please keep in mind that when I post here, all opinions are my own and are not reflections of anyone else involved in the Tea Party Group that we have created here in the area. At no time do we ever try to persuade or influence anyone, we do not tell others what to do or how to do it, who to vote for, etc.
Everyone else who reads this, is invited to attend. You might want to come early for this particular event as we expect a great turnout!!
I just may take you up on your offer!
I'll put it on my calendar.
You add up the Tea party and Libertarian votes - and they come up to 15. My guess is that some of those independents are also voting conservative.
Democrat, Socialist, the two commie Marxist's, and the green party all together add up to 12. I think the right leaning folks have the left beat - at least on this poll. I hope it's an indication of how we feel here in Colorado right now.
