30 million Americans have been inoculated so far, ten percent of the population. Not too shabby. Operation Warp Speed has been a success. Read today that people who have taken their parents to get the vaccine have sometimes received the vaccine also. If there aren't enough people that day, they will rather give the shots to the people transporting their parents than throw them out. Schedule their appointment late in the day? Nice to see not every good deed getting punished.

There are concerns that the South African variant is strong and can infect a vaccinated person. I hope this proves to not be true. Side note, at least 200 of the troops sent to DC have tested positive. 25,000 troops and no Trump protesters. Typical government overkill.

MERCK misses the mark.....

Bummer that Merck's didn't work out. There are literally billions waiting for inoculations. In a wierd twist, Democrat governors and mayors are opening up their states despite a high infection rate. Luckily President Biden is shutting down travel into the US. We had been ready to book a two week vacation to Mexico in March, but the new rules for returning Americans require confirmed negative Covid-19 tests plus two weeks of quarantine after that. Most Americans don't have that much vacation time. Travelers from South Africa are banned because of a new super strain developing there.
