I have answered this before on other posts but I will try to make you understand. First of all Catholics and Jews alike are raised with guilt by their mothers and the religious teachings. But what you need to understand the most is that in Europe the Jewish people were forced to live in ghettoes, unlike the ghettoes you think you understand, these were not of their making, but the living they were forced to endure. As a result of the persecution and oppression they endured throughout history, they have always tried to help others who are minorities and oppressed in one form or another. It is written in the Torah that it is the responsibility of the people to care for the less fortunate. Conservative Jews like myself are few and rare. It is frustrating to us, as it appears to be with you to have addressed this question, that Jewish people constantly vote Democratic as they do. In great numbers they voted for Obama. In great numbers they would have voted for Hillary Clinton, even though the pictures of her hugging and kissing Arafat's wife were shown to them. It doesn't make sense, but it is the Jewish Way and it is the word of God that tells them to be this way.

Most of the Conservative Jews I have known made the change at the same time, with Reagan, due to Carter's outright apparent hatred of Israel, with Reagan's comment about not leaving the Democratic Party, but the party leaving him. Since then the Democratic party has swung way to the left extreme and it's agenda is no longer the same. Meanwhile the Jewish community stays planted with them unable to extricate themselves from the Social Agenda.

my contacts with the jewish constituency has been through the denver hispanic chamber of commerce. they are there to share and assist in growing businesses. the jewish compadres are there not to show how good or how brilliant they are but to genuinely share what works and interestingly all are dems and huge contributors to their party. i don't know a jewish repub, now that i think of it.
