So, Mark Prior, who is planning to open a gentlemen’s club in Abbotsford, Wisconsin, has posted a “No Negroes Allowed” sign outside the site of his future store.

First of all, Prior doesn’t even own an operating business on the site. At this point, it’s just a vacant office building. That more than anything else shows Prior’s true intention — to simply get a little publicity for his pointy-headed view on race.
If he opens his business to the public, he will be breaking the Civil Rights Act of 1964. If he decides to make his club a private establishment, he might be able to discriminate. But with all the publicity that he has garnered, good luck trying to open that business and keep black people from entering.

Back to the way it was in the 1950's? You mean when the Democrats were fighting hard to stop black Americans from having equal rights? Good point. Looks like another Democrat sign to me, who wants to go back to that time. Damn racist Dems! The Tea Party fought for equal rights so I know you can't mean them. I am not sure what's worse....putting up this "no" sign or Democrat Mayor putting a "vacancy" sign up for blacks folks to live in Cabrini-Green projects?
The politics of Cabrini-Green are obvious -- the father of Chicago's mayor, Richard Daley, was the one who came up with the idea to build the development. Now, Richard Daley Jr. is tearing down the buildings that his father created. The remainder of Cabrini-Green is scheduled for demolition in January or February, and one family has until Dec. 10 to move out.

Cabrini-Green became the house where violence lived, where one horrible crime after another made the community an unsafe and unimaginable place for any child to grow up. There is now just one more building left in the massive set of high rises, and the community has been replaced by townhouses and additional forms of development. We can now see that those who ran from the inner city 20 years ago are realizing that the land has tremendous value.
The Cabrini-Green projects were born in 1942. They were named after St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, a Roman Catholic patron saint of immigrants. The projects held as many as 13,000 residents at one point.
The projects became nationally recognized in 1981, when 11 people were killed over a three-month period during a series of gang wars. In 1992, one of the residents shot and killed a 7-year-old boy while he walked to school holding his mother's hand. After that, a 9-year-old girl was found raped, choked, poisoned and left for dead in a stairwell with graffiti all over her body.
Identification by skin pigmentation is very, very stupid. It is equal to whether you have attached ear lobes or non-attached ear lobes. Makes no difference in who or what you are. Discrimination by skin pigmentation is stupid.
Cabrini-Green was a facinating place to visit in the daytime. I rode my bike (very fast) through that area a number times when I live in Chi-town. I actually lived on the north side (Clybourn/Diversey/Damon) 1/2 block away from the Lathrop projects. They were low rise and not as sprawling. Still remember the helicopters at night and all the gunfire, especially when the Bulls were winners (Jordan years). Our garage was tagged weekly (Latin Kings or Dueces). Poverty does not discriminate on the basis of skin color.
I grew up about 80 miles NW of Abbotsford, WI. Those folks are nuts... Mostly crazy white folks.
