Sorry folks, those are all just byproducts. What this is about is people and their intelligence which is directly proportional to the level of synaptic activity or the lack thereof that is going on between their ears. Regarding the Jewish people. Per capita there is no other group, race, whatever you want to call it that even comes close to significant inventions that have improved the lives of humans at a global level. I don't think living in a barren desert had anything to do with this. I don't think persecution did this either. I am therefore left with only one other explanation. What I consider the final word on the subject. God said they are his chosen people. Now whether or not you believe in a Judeo-Christian God, I have yet to hear anyone else offer up a more plausible explanation that after more than 2 millenia of persecution and attempted genocides, this group not only prospers instead of going extinct but they still continue to contribute to mankind at levels that far exceed the rest of the world's so called innovators.
If libs would just accept reality the way it is instead of trying to promote their delusion, society would be a lot better off. It may be a terrible thing to waste a mind, but more importantly it is a dangerous thing to assume or promote the idea that all minds are equal.
Nice theory about the Chosen People but you think God would have been nicer to them if they were his folk, centuries of persecution, exile, and genocide, make Jews look more like Job. Even today, they are surrounded by enemies and subject to rocket and terror attacks every week.
And many of the most accomplished Jews are very secular. So I am guessing it is more background and culture than what religion they choose to follow.

The name of their religion stems from their tribe. Not the other way around.

So, I will try to discuss it by what I think you are saying. There are so many factors that go into why a culture, race, country and their religions are more successful (in our eyes) than others. The British were able to try to conquer other countries because they had alot of water around them and needed to build boats. So, where you happen to be born makes a world of difference.
There are amazing people everywhere that work hard to get out of their circumstance and I for one admire those kinds of people far more than someone that had all the breaks and was able to do something with it. I just watched an amazing program about George Washington Carver last night. An amazing humble person, who was a slave and who was offered a 6 figure salary to work with Thomas Edison but turned it down to continue work for 6,000 a year. And alot of the innovations he came up with are still standards today. He came up hundreds of industrial uses for peanuts and soy beans that we still use today in a science lab that was tiny.
I don't look at him as a religious group, race or anything like that. He was an amazing person. And the few Muslims on your list were amazing people as well, I suspect, to be on such a short list. I am not as impressed with those that had everything but they are just as amazing in my eyes. Let's talk about why there is such a discrepancy and look at other socio groups as well to get a good picture of this. Let's talk India, Japan, China etc. The shear numbers makes a difference but they are incredibly successful in some things. Or should we go with just religion. CG I think the best way for you to get it is to get yourself a copy of The Bell Curve by Harvard psychologist Richard J. Herrnstein and political scientist Charles Murray. Maybe if you hear it from people who spent millions$ to reach the same conclusions that common sense dictates you will be awakened. But that is only a maybe.
