The residents of the Chiricahua-Peloncillo drug and human smuggling corridor that runs from the Mexican border north through eastern Arizona and western New Mexico are circulating a petition to send to the White House in response to President Obama's recent immigration speech.

"It is with great wonderment and sadness that we listened to your May 10 speech on immigration issues. All of the joking about moats and alligators cut residents of Portal, AZ, to the core as we sheltered with friends or at a Red Cross evacuation site, to survive a terrible fire that still threatens our lives and property, as well as our ecotourism-based economy," the letter reads.

On Sunday, a massive fire broke out in Horseshoe Canyon, about 50 miles north of the Mexican border, which residents and law enforcement say they believe was started by criminal illegal aliens. Last year, a fire in the same location caused more than $10 million in damages."

"Just last month the U.S. sent two Air force cargo planes to help Mexico battle back wildfires in the northern part of it's country, fires that burned 386 square miles. It's a move that West Texas Congressman Francisco Canseco (R-Fort Stockton) thinks is a hypocritical one by the Obama administration as Texas has requested the same sort of federal aid but has been denied it.

"386 square miles pales with the 2.5 million acres of land that have been burned and scorched beyond recognition," says Canseco.

And Former FEMA Director Michael Brown thinks that a "snub" like this reeks of politics as he believes Texas deserves a similar response from the federal government.
"I think what's going on is we see the Chicago style politics.I'm amazed that he's put FEMA in this awkward position of not allowing federal assistance," says Brown.

ID theft is only one of the many problems assiciated with illegals. BTW illegals are not the only ones who steal other people’s ID, but this thread is about illegals.

Then there is Saudi Arabia who two years ago sought to fortify its northern border with war-torn Iraq by installing a razor-wire fence and an integrated electronic surveillance system. This summer, the nation decided to expand the effort to all its borders.

Of course there is the well known Iran boarder incident where a few hikers allegedly crossed the boarder into Iran and ended up in Jail.

No country that I know has borders that it does not try to protect and they are serious about it.

If you cross the Afghan border illegally, you get shot
If you cross the Saudi Arabian border illegally, you will be jailed.

If you cross the Venuzuelan border illegally, you will be branded a spy and your fate will be sealed.
If you cross the Cuban border illegally, you will be thrown into political prison to rot.
If you cross the EU border illegally, you are detained for up to 18 months before deportation.

Everywhere you go, countries wrestle with illegal immigration in different ways, but few have open borders.
