Say you go to the airport and pick up a guest. Their arrival time is 5PM. You'll be back up the hill with them by 6:30 at the latest. You walk into the house, settle them in and offer them dinner.
What are you serving?
Did you already have it prepared?
Is it hot or cold?
I've encountered that issue a lot...I always have ingredients for italian subs....make your own with lots of goodies....meats, cheese, veggies,etc....a fruit salad, maybe cold pasta salad, and nice dessert. And always a nice red wine to go with the italian. I've found that after a day of traveling most people would rather not stop at a restaurant.
archer, this was my thought exactly! Plus, she wants to get up here to see the place while it's still light out so stopping is not really what I want to do. Was thinking of grabbing Chinese (love that new place near Raven's) or making sandwiches or salad or brats or something easy, quick, good. Not sure about BQ'ing with this weather though.
Keep those ideas coming, please!
Thank you all!!!!
Hog Heaven except closed on Tuesdays. But better yet pick up a side meat and some fixings beforehand and it will all be waiting for you when you arrive home with your guest.
