"The problem with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money." attributed to Margaret Thatcher
"A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government." Thomas Jefferson
We have the old style pioneer plates...when you had to prove that your family had been here for generations. My husband qualified...me, I've only been here 20 years, a virtual newcomer. The new style pioneer plates mean nothing.

As a thank you to SC though for use of her website I also make a point of finding one of her advertisers, checking them out and if they have something I want, purchase it.
My mom loves the yarn I picked up at Knit Knook.

My kids have fallen in love with the Luna's Mandala store. lol
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
Call me silly, but I don't want a Wal*Mart up here. I like our small businesses. I like Aspen Perk and JJ's and Crossroads and Mountain Dollar and all of those. I don't go down the hill much as I am working my small business. I wouldn't shop Wal*Mart if it was up here.
Alcoa seems to be doing OK when I am in there, but I SURE agree they need to lower rent if they want folks to open shops. There are SCADS of open spaces up here. Not only SW and KS, but also Kings Valley and Green Valley. The *old* safeway center seems to be hopping just fine.
