According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office on Twitter, the evacuations are being ordered for a four-mile radius with a southern boundary of Highway 285, a northern boundary of Buffalo Park Road, an eastern boundary of Highway 73 and a western boundary of the Jefferson County Line.
And Pinecam is shut down. Interesting community resource. Also interesting that the newscasters have no clue where Evergreen, Brook Forest, and the Outdoor Lab are.
Lets all PANIC !!!! I hope all that are in harms way, are safe and the firefighters are safe as well.
I'm at Conifer Medical Center right now trying to get that webcam back up and running - the admin who takes care of tech stuff for the Center is over fighting the fire right now. It has a direct view of the fire.
This is from the hill behind Brooks Place Tavern.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
Still haven't heard back from my close friend that lives off of Snowshoe. I think he's screwed on getting in there, it's all locked down. I don't usually pray but right now I am. It's being contained but could get out of control very quickly. This is why I will give the fire dept. any money that they ask for. Food for thought and not a discussion for right now btw. Just food for thought.
Hope this can be rapidly "contained" Tough area....canyons and steep mountains.
Note that usually firefighters except for air tankers cannot directly impact a fire up here.....containment is about all that can be done IF that. Most of these just burn themselves out......after a lot of real damage. Gonna be a long summer.
