Traffic Crime - Officers received an anonymous complaint of a vehicle speeding. Officers were able to locate the vehicle and driver in question. The driver was apologetic and said he was in a rush home to start “hot tubbing”. The driver was advised not to speed in the future.
Suspicious Person/Activity – Caller reported a suspicious-looking van parked in a parking lot. An officer responded and found a man employed by UAF, working on equipment designed to track tectonic plate movements.
Welfare Check – Caller reported a drunken man lying on the ground at the Alyeska boat launch. The man, who sat up laughing when contacted by an officer, said he was waiting for a friend to pick him up.
Noise Disturbance – Bunkhouse tenant complained about noise from a neighboring room. An officer contacted the neighbor, who had fallen asleep with his TV on, and advised him of the complaint.
Domestic Disturbance – Officers responded to a residence from which a hang-up call, with yelling in the background, had been received. A man and his mother-in-law were arguing loudly but there was no indication that any physical violence had ensued. The man opted to leave for the remainder of the day.
DUI – Juan I. Torres, 42 yoa, of Unalaska, was arrested for Driving under the Influence after an officer observed him utilizing the entire roadway for his driving endeavors. Torres told the arresting officer that he had simply gone out to get more beer.
Traffic Roads – A driver who parked and left his vehicle squarely in the middle of an intersection, prohibiting access through and beyond said location, was issued a citation.
Public Safety – Caller reported two men walking in the roadway on the South Channel Bridge, creating a hazardous situation for both themselves and passing motorists. An officer contacted the men and suggested they use the sidewalk conveniently located next to the roadway.
Assistance Rendered – Father requested assistance cutting the lock of his daughter’s bike, which had been stolen, again, repainted and then chained to a post. Officers confirmed that the bicycle was in fact his daughter’s, and documented the incident per his request.

Traffic Crime – Officer observed two vehicles racing on Henry Swanson Drive with one of the vehicles almost colliding head on with the officer. When contacted the individuals stated that they wanted to give their toddler son the sense of racing in the wind. Subject was summonsed for multiple charges.
Criminal Mischief – Caller reported four to five children playing inside of a parked vehicle. Officer responded and contacted the children who said they were using the vehicle as a prop for their Parkour video. Officer advised the children not to use other people’s property as a prop for their video. The children apologized and vacated the area.
Animal – Caller reported a neglected cat. ACO responded and determined that the cat had been involved in a fight with a fox. Owner referred to vet for assistance.
Suspicious Person/Activity – Officers responded to faint cries for help at the CEM dock. Upon arrival Officers observed an individual in the water, under the dock, sitting on a float. Officers were able to extricate the subject who was later determined to be inebriated. The subject said he wanted to go for a swim, jumped in off the dock and somehow ended up under the dock. Ambulance responded and subject signed a refusal form.
Civil – Caller reported lending someone a cell phone and now claims to have lost it at sea. Caller wanted his phone back. Caller was advised the incident was civil in nature.
Traffic Crime – Caller requested assistance with a commercial truck that had run over his luggage. Officer responded to the location and was notified that both parties had come to a civil agreement to pay for damages incurred.
Domestic Disturbance – Caller reported loud noises and a verbal dispute emanating from a neighboring residence. Officer responded and contacted one occupant at the residence and the other at work. Both denied any arguments and insisted that the vacuum and loud music may have been the source of the complaint.
Drunk Disturbance – Caller reported a patron who was asked to leave the restaurant was acting suspicious, taking off his shirt and pacing in the restaurant. Officers responded and contacted the subject. The subject was provided courtesy transport to his place of employment.
I find it hilarious that a person who was reported for suspicion of public drunkenness pacing around in a bar shirtless was escorted to his place of employment. Stripper? lol
And who in the world would think it's even remotely a good idea to go swimming in Alaskan waters? How drunk do you have to be to think that's a good idea???

MANNO, I miss Alaska.....still think the guy shooting the phone of the wall because he was
truly ticked at his lawyer is the "essence" of the Far North ya gotta love the creative
thought process.....
