The Story of Mountain Jim’s Firewood
Mountain Jim's Firewood·Monday, September 16, 2019

Way back in 1868 a fellow by the name of James Nugent (AKA Mountain Jim) arrived in Estes Park, Colorado and built a cabin. He went on to become one of the few guides and trappers in the area and lived an interesting life including a love triangle, a grizzly bear attack that scarred half of his face and took out an eye, and ultimately- a gun fight in which he lost.

Mountain Jim’s Firewood is a bit tamer than all that- James Jereaux-Hebb started the company in 2014 with his wife Michelle- she found the story of James Nugent and suggested the name! In 2019 Jim decided to pursue other adventures and sold the business to the Kruse family.

The Kruse family is excited to carry the torch from the legacy that Mountain Jim Jereaux-Hebb left along the front range and the 285 corridor. The Kruse family includes Elizabeth (Owner), Travis (the grunt/ driver), Oliver (oldest assistant) and Tucker (in training).

Please contact us to find out about how we can help heat your house this winter using the best renewable resource we have up in the mountains- firewood!
