thank you for sharing that you have applied for a position on the arena board. i was wondering about it and the other committees on the park county website.

it looks to me like there are a certain number of positions available and they are selected by the county commissioners? if not selected there is still the option of attending their meetings right and voicing concern? and it looks like the committees show minutes of meetings? i am just learning all of this.

i take that back. doesn't look like all committees provide minutes but they do provide date, time and agenda.

My experience has been that the BOCC appoints all board members. You file an application and they may or may not notify you to come in for an interview.

You can sign up for notification of meetings at the Park County website. I'm not sure how you get the minutes of the L&WTFB meetings unless you attend a meeting. I believe you must request the minutes, since I haven't seen them posted. I know the posted BOCC minutes are very sparse. They do record those meetings.

In regard to Lillian Wissel, see this under her topic:

You should check to see what other good things the Land And Water Trust Fund Board has accomplished with the money the citizens entrusted them with. I can tell you that the citizens on the South side of Kenosa pass have been very appreciative for the Land and Water Trust Fund efforts. There are always two sides to every story. There are many others within the Burland area that have told me they want the Ball fields upgraded. It would be a very wonderful idea if all of you could come to a uniform decision regarding this issue that pits one against the other. What is the $700,000 to be spent on?

My bold.

For someone who professes no conflict of interest and recusing herself from such issues, here she is espousing Dave Wissel's ideal spending plan.

Again, it's one thing to SAY you're capable of recusing one's self, but apparently quite another to actually do it.
