How do you know it was just on the terrorists? How many innocent Americans were tapped to get to the terrorists? How do you know that someone wasn't listening to your phone sex conversation you had with your girlfriend?

I cannot believe that most conservatives are for government intrusion into their personal lives. What other rights are you willing to give up so that you can live in safety?

Kate will submit to being groped at an airport, and not say a word. But, when a terrorist is caught on a wire tap, she will defend the right of the terrorist to the death.

What Viking and the other Bush worshippers forgot to mention, is that the intelligence agencies have always had the ability to tap the phones of suspected terrorists. What the Bush "wiretapping bill" did was eliminate the need to have prior approval by the FISC courts within 72 hours of the wiretap and allows the intelligence agencies to tap conversations merely based on their suspicions. Since there was prior intelligence in regard to the courier having ties to terrorist organizations, it would have been simple to obtain the appropriate warrant, thus the "Bush wiretapping bill" had no bearing on this incident.
