I haven't seen it in years but what a movie, 4 hours and was mesmerized. Story, acting and the relevance was still all there. Turner Classic Movies . I think it replays later tonight. My uncle served under Patton, what a character.

My uncle also served under Patton. He was in a tank crew.
I watched All Quiet on the Western Front.

You do know that the movie is nothing like reality right? A lot of dramatic lisence's were taken out when they made that one. Please friends...Lets not get our history from Hollywood Productions please...?

BTW JMC, I saw the film in 1970 at the Des Plains theater, so I had the experience you had last night...... 41 years ago. I was impressed, but not nearly as much as you seem to be. I gave it a B+ then, and a F- now

I bet 1000 guys served under Patton, but 100,000 claimed to have. What are the odds of having two guys here having relatives who served under Patton...I'm saying....1- 1500,000,000. Just sayin

If you will search these forums you will find that I have posted this information before concerning my uncle.
Consider this, VL: a person only suspects of others what he knows of himself. The reason that you believe that there might be falsehood being told here is because you know that you are a fake and a liar.
VL, you have told us more of yourself than you realize.

Major Bean

It was then, but so was the Towering Inferno. It just doesn't stand the test of time.

When was the last time you watched it? I hadn't seen it in 20 years, way better than Inferno.
