I still believe we need a comprehensive immigration plan...but neither party has the guts to do anything about it....so kudos to the prez for doing what he can with the budget he does have.
AZ has this same issue.....a law that allows them to pick up lots of illegals, but no money to do anything with them.
We need a very BIG appropriations bill to deal with illegals effectively, but I seriously doubt we will get it.
And your answer to what we should do with those illegal workers is............?
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

If you have the money, and the means, send them home. But that is not an option unless, and until, we actually close the border. So in the meantime, taking away the incentive to come here, or to stay here, is the best we can do. And I am happy to see us doing that. Those who hire illegals should be rooted out.....
So ICE goes in and busts the employer (I agree), then the illegals are standing there in front of you. Do we just say "scram!" and catch them at the next job? When these illegals can't find a job, do you really think they will go back to Mexico or is it possible they will take more desperate measures for income which may not be legal? Being unemployed in the US has to be better than being unemployed in Mexico.

These are audits, not raids........the gov't audits the personnel records of the companies and checks the legal status of all their employees.....if illegals are found in those records the company is fined and those workers let go.....
The issue of what those workers do after that is a problem, like I stated before......it's expensive to deport them....Obama is doing what he can....now the congress has to step up and put forth an immigration policy that addresses the issue of how to close the border......what to do with illegals that are here.....and how much money they are willing to spend to tackle this problem. That last issue.....money....is going to be a tough one.....will the Republicans/tea party be willing to increase spending for this issue?
They are not only audits, there are also raids on certain companies. I still say that the problem with illegals won't go away by taking away their jobs. These people are here to stay job or no job....they will wait until they are given amnesty then survive, in large part, by the taxpayers. JMO.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
Audit, nope, just send 3 ICE agents into the business, make a head count and see who runs, then come back the next day and see what the head count is... if it's different than the day before (excluding call ins) fine the company!
To answer your last question, depends opn HOW MUCH I suppose...
But with my idea we could cut the ICE agents down to what maybe 150 agents, and put all the rest of them on the border, so as not to increase unempolyment. Then it's a wash... NO increase in budget.
The issue of what those workers do after that is a problem, like I stated before......it's expensive to deport them
Your a real piece of work Archer- just how much do you think it costs to load up a bus and drive it across the border?
The government already has vast resources that we are already paying for- sitting around with their thumb up their butts, waiting for directions to start deporting these criminals. You act like we need to start a whole new bureaucracy to do this.
It's insulting.
The bureaucracy already exists- just like the personnel already exist to do the audits in the first place- we already have a "department of immigration and naturalization" and it already has a staff- and I bet they have some busses too!
And just in case we don't have any money to do this- anywhere in the 3.86 trillion dollar budget- here are some suggestions.....
--- We could take some of that money we give Pakistan for help- they don't need our help anymore since they are our enemy.
--- We could cut money out of the PBS budget- that's just a waste.
--- We could cut money out of welfare and food stamps and government housing for poor people- with millions of fewer mouths sucking on the government teat- they wont need as much.
Or-
We could fine these employers and make them pay to deport them
Or-
We could take the money out of the soon to be deported paychecks
This sounds like a "shovel ready" project if there ever was one- how bout using some of that American Reinvestment and Recovery Act money- at least deporting criminals would actually do somthing to help the economy!

!
my, my....shoot the messenger and all that. I don't know how much, that's why I brought it up. It just doesn't seem likes it's as easy as filling up a bus and taking them across the border. And even if it was......what's to keep them from coming right back? What part of we need to close the borders don't you all understand. THAT will take money.....so get on the phone/e-mail/twitter/facebook.....whatever and urge your congress critters to tackle this problem....NOW.
But meanwhile, I'll continue to be a "real piece of work", whatever that means.......it amazes me that I agree with all of you and you still have to bash me. BearMtnHIB , I know you don't like me, but bashing someone who happens to agree with you seems like you are just looking to attack me, personally, no matter what I post.
