Why Aren't You Speaking English? Controversial

An aside, Spanish is being pushed by the businesses you idiots blindly worship, cause it means money. Ignorance is a wonderful thing to watch. Fools abound.

You know what? They should've made it mandatory to learn and be proficient in other languages when we were in school. They didn't, it wasn't required, and now you want me to compromise for everyone else. It's that simple. You call me a racist or a bigot, and I think you're a jack @$$. I may not be hands down "proud" to be an American, but I certainly don't like the idea of constantly making excuses for others and rubbing someone's shoulder because they may have had some trials and tribulations. I've worked hard and sacrificed too, but I WILL NOT be forced to learn another language because the individual I'm dealing with was themself TOO lazy to learn mine. YOU immigrated HERE, not the other way around. If I ever immigrate to another country, you bet your fool head that I'll be sure to learn the language. If I was "running" from here, I'd learn as quickly as I could wherever I went. GFY.

My grand parents came her legally in 1901, they never spoke English, I never spoke Italian. My uncles, all 11, served in WW2, Both my grand parents had to get pics taken and registered during the war.they did all and complied. Never complained Language means nothing , they sacrificed as much for this country as the pilgrims.

Like you know EXACTLY who I am. I in fact have a problem with ANYONE coming to this country and refusing to learn English. It was elected as the language, so deal with it.

I haven't supported it, still heavily disagree with it, encourage higher prices for my potatoes and whatnot, but how am I and the others that agree with me supposed to change all the entitlement when liberal minded people like you stand in the way?

Insane? I really don't think so, but I'll look into that. All I was saying is that it was very much grandstanding on the part of this senator to throw down the language card. As Bailey Bud said, the guy probably spoke much more eloquent Spanish than English. You and me are never likely to agree on anything, much less this issue, but to cheerlead for this senator is just plain ignorant. He dismissed testimony he didn't like by attacking the speaker. He doesn't have to learn Spanish. All he needed to do was listen to the interpreter.

Okay, another Bozo, it is easy, my grandparents got here in 1901 (all 4) I was born in 1952, none ever spoke English, they produced 11 sons that fought in WW2 against Italy. I never spoke Italian, never communicated with them with out a parent translating. They never wanted me to learn Italian for fear of being pegged as a " ginker" They loved, contributed and worked their asses off to make a better life for their children.
You lost site of what makes this country great and I can't fix racist stupidity. I am an American success story . You narrow minded fools would cut that opportunity off over someone that doesn't or can't learn the "language"? Fools!
