Why Aren't You Speaking English? Controversial

17 Jun 2011 16:59 #41 by archer
I guess conclusions can be colored by one's own prejudices.....what I would conclude....in this particular instance....is that liberals are for extending common courtesies to others, and conservatives are not. For a US senator to ridicule a person for testifying in Spanish, because they were not sure they could testify as well in English, because it IS their second language.....is disrespectful, demeaning, and just plain stupid. That the conservatives here would applaud such boorish behavior, I guess I should have expected that.

It is interesting to me that this thread has completely avoided the issue of what the testimony was for, illegal immigration, and gotten onto the bias issue.

Gee, Archer, since you have claimed to be a Social Liberal and a Fiscal Conservative, you must be totally torn in two different directions.

Gee nmysys......wrong again. Why you continue to tell me what I think and feel, I have no idea. The two can work together....it's simply a matter of where you put your priorities. Mine are with the citizens......yours? who knows.

The US budget should be like a family budget...taking care of the family's basic needs....food, housing, health care is paramount.....a new car....nope....a new TV.....nope....and waging war on my neighbor? not even on the list.....but a gun to protect my home, yeah, have one of those.

Try as hard as you do and you still can't come off like Mother Teresa.

My grand parents came her legally in 1901, they never spoke English, I never spoke Italian. My uncles, all 11, served in WW2, Both my grand parents had to get pics taken and registered during the war.they did all and complied. Never complained Language means nothing , they sacrificed as much for this country as the pilgrims.
Narrow minded bigoted BS. You make me question .......never mind. I don't want to hate you racist scum. I would prefer to think you are all just really stupid.

This is the first post in this thread that started calling other forum members vile names. And the name calling is from a liberal who started this website. In another thread he praises Roy Rogers and the values that were taught in the 40s and 50s. Makes one question the sincerely of jmc.

Whaa whaa! can't stand the heat? Maybe some of us can hold 2 thoughts that aren't dictated by Glenn Beck. You know where you can go if you can't handle it.
I happen to have loved RR

I was not in the heat in the least, jmc. It is just amazing that you play to the nastalgic morality of ages past, and then spew vile vulgar namecalling all in the same daylight hours of the day. Can you explain your contradictory bahavior?

You must have loved Roy Rogers because he was what you could never be: decent.

Only contradiction is the narrow minds where there is no room to maneuver.I can hold contradictory thoughts unlike you. I don't need to keep things that simple stupid. Try a little complexity in your ideas , makes things more interesting. If someone spouts racist views , I will call them out, sorry you want me to be a simpleton ,caricature that fits your stereotype. Ain't gonna happen.ps: the racist scum comment was over the top, for that, I apologize.
