Wait, aren't those large corporations? Is General Electric left leaning?

Let me see if I understand this....
You claim General Election Corporation is left leaning and you use a site that advertises "Help us stop Obama's RADICAL transformation of America" as proof? (I think that's what you meant by posting a link with no comment)

I have no way of knowing NBC motives, but as long as we're guessing... Perhaps it was edited to fit a 60-second hole? Perhaps it was edited by someone who didn't think it should be in there and it wasn't reviewed before air?
Again, that's just a guess and not an excuse for what they did. They did apologize in the middle of the golf coverage for the omission.
I'm also old enough to remember when we had to start saying "under God" in school.
The original 1892 pledge by Francis Bellamy was actually quite short.
It was also written by a "socialist" (said in a dirty sort of way, like "community organizer"), according to Wikipedia. There was also the "Belamy Flag Salute" that was to be used by students:
Think we should bring that back, too, since it has been dropped?

I also read in the above article that only half the states require school children to recite the pledge. How come nobody seems to have expressed displeasure over that? It seems to me to have a bigger impact than something aired in a televised golf tournament on a single TV network on a single day. But then, that falls under "States Rights," right?

I'm Offended!!!! No reason just because it's the fad, now.
BTW: The Bellamy salute is the salute described by Francis Bellamy (1855–1931) to accompany the American Pledge of Allegiance, which he had authored. During the period when it was used with the Pledge of Allegiance, it was sometimes known as the "flag salute". During the 1920s and 1930s, Italian fascists and Nazis adopted salutes which were similar in form, resulting in controversy over the use of the Bellamy salute in the United States. It was officially replaced by the hand-over-heart salute when Congress officially amended the Flag Code on 22 December 1942.

"Under God" was added many years after that salute Wayne, (don't be silly) let's just say in as it is today OK.
In all fairness if you look at the spot, it does appear that they cut the sound of the kids saying the pledge, to insert the pictures of the color guard, rising the flag, then they cut back to the kids saying the pledge. Now, the timing could have been off, or they could have done it with intent, or the editor is just a frick'in moron.
