GOP poll: Tea party movement could cost Republicans in 2012

Kate, the emphasis is on Park Co GOP members, not plain old GOP, the state party.

I didn't take that specific of notes attributing each quote to a specific individual, I only wrote it down if it was repeated more than once, or seemed to be an important point. There is some disagreement between those of us who attended as to who exactly said what, so I'm hoping that this means that for future meetings more people will take notes and post their own take of the meeting - more eyewitnesses only improves the accuracy of the viewed event.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

Living in the 21st century has it's bonuses. Instead of posting notes and people's takes on what was said, the meetings should be videotaped and posted online, so everyone can see and hear exactly what was said and by whom. That way, they can show what transparency that they wail about President Obama not showing is. With all of this eyewitness denial, it is really starting to sound like politics as usual from this group.

Quick, start a thread about the Masons. Kinda like throwing a steak to distract a mad dog.

If the Tea Party wants to be a third party, more power to them.

Was that aimed at me? I was only asking for clarification on his statement.

That is false assumption, one the Dems and Media like to hang on the TP groups, it is true however that the GOP would love to have control of and utilize the TP groups.

Really?

From the 285 TEA Party meeting notes:

What does the 285 Corridor Tea Party expect to accomplish?
• Expand influence with Republican Party

What does it stand for?
• Serve as conscience of Republican Party

Apparently you didn't read the entire thread. Both of those statements have been discussed and dismissed those statements can be attributed to two guests who happened to be Park County GOP Exec committee members.

I went back through all 15 pages and can't find any post that answers the question of Tea Party involvement in the Republican party. Where does anyone say that those statements are from GOP Exec Committee members? Did I miss it?

They initially didn't respond at all...("It never happened.") Then they tried to suggest that the meeting minutes were written by an "angry liberal" trying to smear them...("It didn't happen the way the meeting minutes says it did.") Then they tried to suggest that the questions (and answers) somehow came from outsiders or guests who were trying to inject themselves into the proceedings...("It happened..but it wasn't us..")

Wow...They're going to kill themselves running away from it. It's not going to "go away" just because someone says, "Oh that's been discussed and dismissed." Uh, no, it hasn't... I think it's absolutely true that some teaparty members are nuts... Perhaps not all...but I wouldn't want to bet on the percentage....

(Insert standard deflection here: "The muslims & sharia law have infiltrated us: ______________" "Dems do it too: __________" "It was outside agitators: _________________" ) ad nauseum....

Have we established this is NOT what the 285 Corridor Tea Party stands for?

• Expand influence with Republican Party

What does it stand for?

They aren't here to influence the Republic Party or serve as a conscience to the Republican Party?

Do they even have an FAQ for potential members explaining what they hope to accomplish, other than "throw the bums out"?

Sure they were discussed and dismissed in a post that has yet to be discovered...
