pineinthegrass wrote: Viking, would your opinion of Perry change if it were shown that Perry may of allowed the execution of an innocent man?
Or that he at least allowed the execution to proceed with no delay even though he was given a report shortly before the execution showing that the main evidence leading to his conviction wasn't valid (why not at least issue a delay)?
Or that he replaced some commissioners investigating the evidence during his last election (including the chair), which delayed the commission's report from coming out until after his election. And when the report finally came out it found that the evidence was not supported?
I'm just going by memory here, but could provide links if you are interested. But just asking what you think if at least the second two points were correct.
Nope. I know the story. Heck people voted Obama in and he was for late term abortion so he allowed the execution of thousands of innocent children. Clinton had affairs in the White House and lied to congress while ignoring Osama bin Ladin. Kennedy killed a woman and covered it up and kept getting re-elected until he died. Byrd was hugely involved int he KKK and black Americans kept voting him in until he died. When you are in office for 27 years, there are going to be some mistakes. As I said, no one is perfect. Have you found one who is perfect that you would vote for? Please point them out to me. But what I am looking out for is the future of this nation and our economy and bringing business and revenue back to the US and cut down the out of control spending. Perry HAS dont this and will continue to as President.
And weren't you outraged by all the above stories you claim for Dems?
And now with Perry it's OK with you because you share his political beliefs?
Just mistakes? Of course, no one is perfect, but why not delay an execution when you have a report in hand that the main evidence wasn't valid? Just a mistake?
And why replace the commissioners investigating it during your election? Hardly a mistake, IMO.
Which other Republican front runners have a story like Perry's?
Conservatives only seem to value human life before it is born, after that......not so much. I can't imagine the guilt a normal person would feel if they thought they might have ok'd the execution of an innocent man. Apparently Perry has no guilt, which would concern me greatly if he were to become one of the most powerful people in the world as president.

Liberal logic..... You have a president that has run this nation to the verge of bankruptcy and ruin with the worst policies and leadership in histroy. Hung out with terrorists, and his mentor hates America and White people, and you would rather vote for him over a man that has created more jobs than obama, has much lower unemployment, is considered the the most succesful Governor in the country, has the most successful state in the country at attracting companies to their state due to their tax policies and regulation, and is fighting to put boots on the ground to stop the flow of illegal immigraion, but he screwed up an execution and I am sure he has to live with that every day! So vote for Obama over THAT issue and let this nation fail. THAT is liberal logic!

If you apply that same logic to Obama, you could say he is STILL allowing the death of innocents in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Libya by not pulling all the troops out asap. How's the Libya "thing" going btw?
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
I'd like someone I could vote FOR. Just voting against the other guy doesn't cut it. I couldn't vote for Perry for more reasons than this, but knowingly sending an innocent man to his death would be enough on it's own. I can see no difference between this and an abortion and I couldn't vote for a candidate who had had an abortion either.
Interesting that the same posters who condemn President Obama for his former association with Reverend Wright have no problem with the looney pastors that Perry closely associates with. Such as John Benefil who associates the Statute of Liberty as a demonic idol, John Hagee who has publicly stated that Catholicism is: A Godless theology of hate that no one dared try to stop for a thousand years produced a harvest of hate, and refers to Jews as Christ-killers, etc. or C. Peter Wagner who suggests that Catholic saints are evil. These are just some of the looneys that Perry has endorsed for his state sponsored religious event on August 6.

Just what we need, a president who thinks he's a prophet.....I wonder what other religious delusions he has.
Republican Governor Rick Perry of Texas responded “a prophet is generally not loved in their hometown” when Fox News’ Neil Cavuto questioned why he was more popular outside of his state than within it.
“That’s both Biblical and practical,” the third-term governor and chairman of the Republican Governors Association added.
Perry has not made his religious beliefs a secret. The potential Republican presidential candidate has recently received criticism for his plans to host a Christian prayer summit at Reliant Stadium in Houston.
OK, question. Which candidate including Obama is best at creating jobs, lowering taxes, raising revenue, created a surplus in a recession, keeping unemployment lower than the national average, (only a governor can do that), has created more jobs than almost anyone or anywhere else in the nation over the last decade combined, attracted more businesses and fortune 500 companies due to theri tax policies and keeping government out of the way of companies succeeding with less regulations, is ATTRACTING companies from offshore rather than pushing them offshore, is fighting to put boots on the ground on the border, is fighting to close sactuary cities, understands that Israel is out ally and not our enemy, and there are many more things that I can post about THE most important thing in our nation. THE ECONOMY!! Out of eveyone including OBAMA, who has the most successful proven track record of this, most important and almost should be ONLY issue at this point!
Without our economy and jobs and debt being fixed, which Obama is going 100% in the wrong direction, we won't HAVE a country where Perry or Bachman can support pastors who say some things that aren't mainstream or where Obama can support American and White hating pastors. But you guys keep looking at the little things.
So if you put the economy and jobs as our number one issue, who has the best record? And who has the worst right now? And who has no experience at creating jobs. We went that route with Obama and that wa a total failure!

So these wonderful jobs that Perry somehow created in Texas? 37% of them are at or below the minimum wage. Texas also has the highest percentage of individuals without health insurance and one of the highest high school dropout rates in the country.
