Rick Perry Facing Facing Intensifying Attacks From Tea Party

CONCORD, N.H. — Texas Gov. Rick Perry is facing intensifying attacks from the tea party movement.

Perry was an early tea party supporter, but some conservative activists have turned sour as he moves closer to launching a presidential campaign. They're particularly upset with his position on immigration, but also criticize his record on public health, spending and his former affiliation with the Democratic Party.

Tea party groups in Texas have shared criticism with the New Hampshire Tea Party Coalition, which now dedicates a section of its website to attacking Perry. The Granite State group also sent emails to supporters warning there's more to Perry than meets the eye.

Perry strategist David Carney concedes that activists in early voting states will be skeptical until they get to know the governor.

Never underestimate the ability of the TeaParty to eat its own....

I for once will agree with you here. For anyone to turn on Perry for being a democrat 23 years ago is stupid! Reagan was, and most Tea Party members love him. And is he the strongest on immigration? Not to my taste but as I have said, no one is perfect. He is one of the strongest on BORDER SECURITY though. He would stop this fence crap and put boots on the ground and employ tens of thousands more and close the border once and for all. That and repealing the ridiculous healthcare law are his top priorities. He is fighting now to shut down sanctuary cities but has been open to guest worker programs. The only difference is that there would be stiff fines, strict rules and back taxes, and if any crimes they are gone. I still don’t agree with guest worker as you know this is a strong issue for me but he is fighting hard to change things.

And as far as spending goes, he has cut spending more than most so I am not sure where the Tea Party is having issues here. I feel the problem is that they get stuck behind one candidate right out of the gate and try to stop anyone else from coming in. That is wrong. I have always felt that Perry has a much better chance at defeating Obama than Bachman. She is a great candidate but has no record of creating jobs which Perry created more in the last 10 years than any other state. So when Bachman makes a mistake she has no real record to fall back on. Perry had 27 years of success if he makes a mistake or two. Employment and the debt and stopping spending are the 3 most important things right now and Perry has the best record to do the job by far.

God Urges Rick Perry Not To Run For President

AUSTIN, TX—Describing Texas Gov. Rick Perry as grossly unqualified for the position, God, the Creator and Ruler of the Universe, urged Perry not to run for president of the United States Wednesday. “I prayed last night and asked the Lord to support my candidacy, and He said no,” Perry told reporters outside the Texas Capitol, explaining that God had cited the governor’s rejection of federal stimulus funds to expand state jobless benefits, his irresponsible speculation about Texas seceding from the union, and his overall lack of concrete solutions to nation’s problems as reasons why He could not endorse a Perry presidential bid.

This is too funny...

"Perry may not speak at his own rally"

One of his preacher/supporters says "The Statue of Liberty was given to America by the French Freemasons, and is therefore a 'demonic idol.'"

Another one says some "sun god" had sex with the Emperor of Japan, and Japan's economy "has never been the same since"....

Another one says "Hitler surrounded himself with gay troops because they were 'meaner.'"

You can't make this stuff up... rofllol

Perry's political adviser has been described by some Republicans as "The dumbest man I've ever met..."

PLEASE...Run, Rick, Run!!! (along with Bachmann, Palin, Santorum, Pawlenty, ad nauseum...) A dumber bag of rocks I've never seen....

Careful what you wish for. He would destroy Obama. Not even a close race. You all pulling up a bunch of stuff that Obama has to defend too so that is a wash. Now lets talk border, economy, attracting jobs TO the US rather than creating policies that push them offshore, and job creation. Perry destroys obama on all of those issues. And THOSE are what matter to Voters, not the pastors. Obviously, it had no effect on Obama last election and it won't with Perry this one. Run Perry Run.

Perry / West!
