Why? Their is plenty of money to pay her SS check.
Seems to me the last time the Republicans refused to raise the debt ceiling SS checks did NOT go out.
I'll have to verify that, though, my memory isn't good enough on this issue.
You are correct and that was a choice made by the Clinton administration and before the rise of the conservative press. The story was one sided.
Go ahead and withhold granny's SS check. I dare Obama to do so, because he will have to explain why seniors did not receive their checks when the government had more than enough cash on hand to pay them.
Exactly! As I just posted, the money is there. It is totally on obama if he wants to not pay them.
Funny....the righties have been screaming about how we cannot afford the entitlement programs.......but now that the *%&#$ is about to hit the fan if the debt ceiling isn't raised, suddenly we have plenty of money to pay SS......you guys are a laugh a minute.

The money being there for the next six months is entirely different than it being there in 10 years.
How many baby boomers are retiring every year? And how many high school graduates are unable to find work and start contributing to social Security.

Well then....maybe it's time we increased revenue along with cutting spending so we will have enough to pay grandma.....
Since Odumbo, and Harry Reid don't understand that Social Security and Medicare aren't funded by the typical budget process, I'll be happy to follow numbnuts advice and pee on their plates so they can eat them.
my, wasn't that a typical conservative non-response. You sound like the Republicans in Congress, no wonder they have done nothing in the house for this country since they were voted into power. Buncha whining, complaining do-nothings.
The conservatives convince the American people to vote them into office on a platform of jobs, jobs, jobs and they haven't even come up with one idea on how to do that much less a bill......brilliant
