The GOP is a very useful tool for the haves in this country....what they don't realize is in the end, tools get thrown away.

Well for PETE'S SAKE, Archer, are you suggesting anyone PUNISH THE RICH?

What's the matter with you?

Are you suggesting CLASS WARFARE?

(It would be okay, of course, if your "warfare" was aimed at a politically and economically powerless class like retired old women grubbing by on a few hundred bucks a month.)

Outstanding use of deflection, attack the messenger, denial and finally take your toys and go home. Typical Lefty responses.
There have been several posts regarding either a flat tax or just a sales tax. These would be a step towards making all Americans tax payers, not just the hands out crowd and those that pay for them.

Ever wonder why, when the GOP suggests cutting medicare, medicaid, SS, unemployment, they never use the words "punish the seniors, or the middle class, or the poor"......but suggest we take the tax code back to pre-Bush days (when everyone was doing quite well) and it's suddenly punish the wealthy and the corps. I guess every rightie on here has millions in the bank, or they own an Exxon or something similar. Or maybe they just like getting screwed.

I am in favor of a national sales tax, but only if new spending were put on hold and all revenue from the new tax went towards reducing the deficit.

Who supports the present tax code and enforcement as individuals? When I mention these types of taxes its a complete replacement of, not in addition too. People that spend more, pay more plain and simple.

I'll bet none of them are even 1/100th as rich as those they unwittingly shill for. But they still believe that somehow, someday, they MIGHT become that rich, at which time they don't want to pay high taxes. And of course they don't want to pay any taxes at all right now that might go to some "undeserving" poor person. So rather than give up a piece of their income to provide a social safety net, they'll give a total pass to the rich bastards who laugh their darned butts off at what a scam they've pulled on "middle America".

Like getting screwed? Nah, I think they know they are getting screwed, but the damned fools have been brainwashed into thinking they're getting screwed by some poor half-witted single mother on welfare.

As though any of those kind of people, the ones living on food stamps and a Section 8 voucher, has ever had any power, in the history of life on this planet, to set up the ways things are.

God knows why they would rather villify the powerless than take a good, long look at who has the power and who is really screwing them over, but I suspect it's plain, old-fashioned cowardice. Safer to kick the dog when you get home from work than it is to tell off your jerk of a boss.

Oh yeah, well THAT would be fair. Since the lower middle class and below has to spend 100% of their income just to survive, it's PERFECTLY fair that they pay high sales taxes on all those boxes of Ramen noodles and cheap Walmart shoes for their kids while the rich, who only spend maybe 5% of their income on necessities pay the same.

And gets to sock away the other 95% tax free so they can get even more rich.

PERFECTLY FAIR.

Did any of you actually graduate from sixth grade math?

Or are you just so seriously disrespectful of anyone earning less than you that you figure they wouldn't understand the swindle on 50% or more of Americans you're proposing?

Yep, I just added another looney toon to my ignore list. My list is now two looney toons and one severe crazy nut case and counting.

:)

Looney Toons = Posters with no original thinking that just spout off the standard talking points, daily outrage, or tired old demagoguery.

How do you mean "new spending put on hold" ? Lots of spending has natural growth built in.
