Vice Lord wrote: We don't need a military this big...Sorry your so myopic and self centered to realise that. We are throwing all our money away on this giant jobs program called "the military" and we the people get NOTHING in return for it..Lets build this country instead of building things to kill eachother...I know thats a radical idea, but just try to consider it for a moment.

Meathead

So stupid sh**. you do nothing more than show your stupidity even more. I knew you were clueless, but I did not think it was this bad.

First off, the military is already in a downsizing mode. Including the Army. Its in progress. DOD has already found around 102 billion in savings that will not be in the budget for 2012. Then there is Congress who will not allow the DOD to cut what they really want to cut for even more savings. Now ass, since all those serving in the military and those that have served are part of the we the people they have a say also. For someone so stupid and just a big ass, those of us that served and are serving do not join up so we can, as your stupidity put it, kill each other, and as CB put it. We do ahellva lot more here in the states also. The military is also not a jobs program. It can provide training for a civilian job though. So ass, since alot of those that did retire, and or served do find other jobs after the military, we do work in the civilian sector. I do. We also pay taxes, SS payments, medicare payments. etc. Someone so clueless and stupid as you running your mouth, about that which you know nothing about.

When I started hotwalking and grooming race horses at Arlington Park at the age of 10 for $100/week they took out $10 for Social Security, and I never stopped paying into it until around 2004- So thats my money. I bought the insurance policy. Don't even talk about touching it until you get the freeloaders first. I paid into it, so did teachers, you did'nt. We just can't pull money out of thin air just because you made a bad career choice. I actually generated money throughout my career, you did'nt.

Big difference

VL: What gives you the impression that military members don't pay into Social Security? I have my pay stubs from 1985 when I was an E1 (Airman Basic) and it absolutely says I paid into Social Security. And Federal Taxes, and State Taxes, and Medicare too. Furthermore, my 1099-R says I'm still paying into these programs with my military retirement. And I'm now working a full-time civilian job that also pays into these programs.

If you want proof, I can and will scan a military pay stub from years ago into the computer and post it (it will be redacted as I do not believe posting my full social security number is a good idea) and I'll do the same for my military retirement pay.

By the way...I've been paying into Social Security since I was 14, so as far as I'm concerned I'm just as eligible to get "my" money as you are.

Obama and Congress Agree To Raise Debt Ceiling to $120 Trillion

President Obama and Congress breathed a collective sigh of relief today as Obama signed into law a budget agreement that would raise the federal debt ceiling from it's current $12 trillion to $120 trillion.
"The country's finances are now in excellent shape", an upbeat Obama said in a prepared statement. "We now have plenty of money for education, health care, social security, NPR and funding for the wars".
House Republicans were initially against raising the debt ceiling until Mitch McConnell, the Senate Republican leader, reminded congress that without the removal of the debt ceiling congress would have to be shut down and they would be unable to vote themselves pay raises.

The President said he has a plan to have the country fiscally sound by the time the $120 trillion debt limit has been reached, which will probably be in about 10 years.

"We will start slowly paying our bills", Obama stated. "We will find ways to reduce the deficit as time goes on but let's enjoy the economic prosperity we have now found!"

Some people interviewed were skeptical of the new plan. "If I go a hundred bucks in debt I have creditors crawling up my ass!" said Ventura California bartender Melvin Grace. "Why can't I go at least a few thousand into debt and be OK?"

"You do as we say, not as we do", Obama reminded Grace.

VL:

#1) You didn't answer my question. Do you truly believe active duty military and those receiving retirement benefits do not pay taxes?
#2) Sounds as if your comment was specifically pointed at Navy.
#3) Also sounds as if you knew your comment about military not paying into Social Security was not true...because you were trying to get Navy's goat.
#4) Because you didn't specify to whom your comment was directed, that leaves the door open for all of the rest of us military folk (4 year to veterans, alike) to take offense and try to straighten you out.

Once again, should you need proof that both active duty military and those veterans receiving a retirement from the military pay their due taxes, I'd be happy to put it up on this web site.

In the meantime, I'd be pleased if you would not generalize your statements regarding the military and its denizens, just because you do not care for what one of us has said.

Notice how NavyCop didn't threaten to post pictures of his old pay stubs?

And furthermore, when the government just gives a military person our tax dollars, then holds a little back in taxes, it's not the same as a person who actually creates capital then is taxed on it. Understand? Someone made a profit off of my labor, paid me less than it was worth so they can make a profit from it, and we both paid taxes on our profits generated. Thats the American way. We are just doleing out money to these military people.. If it walks like a handout, talks like a handout, and even smells like a handout....Then my friends...It's a freakin handout! And with the country in so much trouble we can't afford "handouts"

PERIOD, DONE, END OF SUBJECT
