House passes GOP’s ‘Cut, Cap and Balance’ plan 234-190

I'll admit the Republicans are in a tough spot....the American public is saying they need to compromise and get a deal done, they are also in favor of increasing revenue along with cutting spending. On the other side the Tea Party is saying no deals, don't compromise, don't raise the debt ceiling......stand your ground and lets go into default. I think most of the Republicans realize that they can't do that, it would, or could, do serious damage to our economy and it's citizens. So what do they do........time will tell how they handle the dilemma.

Sorry Viking, we notice, and think it's pretty funny.

Maybe I missed it, but can anyone let me know a detailed proposal the Democrats have given regarding this recent debt ceiling issue? Has the President suggested anything in detail either?

When was the last time the Democrats offered a budget? Aren't they required to do so?

Can't they tell the voters what they plan to do?

Of course they can't pass a budget.......the Republicans control the house and hold enough seats in the senate to filibuster.......Republicans don't want a budget, if they had a budget then they would have to abide by it.....it's much better to talk about cutting spending and balancing a budget than it is to actually have to do it.

The Democrats had total control and and a President to sign it, and didnt' pass a budget for 1 year and 9 months, and now it is up to about 820 days. They don't have any idea how to pass one and still keep in trillions of new spending. They are so lost!

LMAO!! So you are saying the the great leaders in the Democratic party said, 'we are not going to give a budget because the Republicans scare us and said they might filibuster'? Are you kidding. Then they are in the wrong line of work! :rofl rofllol

I sometimes wonder if you understand at all how the congress does business....they have these committees viking....that's where everything starts, and if it's a house committee, and led by a Republican, nothing gets out of that committee and to the floor that the Republican Chairman doesn't want out there. You don't put a bill out there you know will fail (and you know well ahead of time) it's a waste of time. Now if you are a Republican, you don't care if you waste everybody's time and you will put bills out there you know will fail.....just because you can.

I'm not talking about passing a budget, how about just proposing one? At least the Repubs have. The Repubs can't force a budget either. At least they offer one. And they've offered specifics for Social Security and Medicare too. But have the Dems proposed any specifics at all? And again, aren't they required to propose a budget? 2+ years and still waiting? Isn't that beyond believable? But if the Dems have proposed something specific, just let me know.

The House Budget Committee is responsible for doing the budget, it is chaired by the Republicans, I guess they haven't found one that is bipartisan enough to pass.....hmmmm, that sounds familiar.
