Phony opportunism is all it's about and the dummies just don't get it. They are the stooges of the powerful. That's why I am registering as a Republican.

lol Technically the kid wasn't born out of wedlock.

Given the reality that the school of hard knocks is sometimes the best teacher, I would find no hypocrisy in Bristol advocating abstinence after making a personal mistake of her own. That is what people, including parents, are supposed to do after a mistake has been made. As far as Track and his bride are concerned, can you point to a specific instance of them advocating abstinence which would make their actions ironic and hypocritical? Is Track's mom somehow responsible for the decisions her son has made as an adult male who has served his nation with honor? Do you even know when Track and Britta became engaged and whether that was before or after abstinence was no longer practiced in their personal lives?

Of course not, but that won't stop regressives from continuing to practice the politics of personal destruction and using the children of the target of their bigotry to get at the target. Thus far they have targeted an innocent Down Syndrome child, the eldest daughter and the middle daughter. In short order they will also target the youngest child because they will not contain their ugly bigotry to the rules adopted by a polite society. All well and good if they are willing to let what is good for the goose be good for the gander, the agreed upon exemption for the children of political figures can be universally abandoned at any time. I'm sure Mrs. Obama and her two children would welcome that change, as would the president himself.

Granted we all just do the best we can whether we are lucky enough to parent for a short or a long time. Granted that no matter how hard we try they still will do what they want to do. I think the point with hypocrisy though is that most of us do not preach as much as some others do because we already know that kids/young adults have a mind of their own.

And the preaching, which all parents would have to admit they do on a wide variety of subjects, is intended to influence that decision such that it doesn't become one that leads to painful lessons courtesy of the school of hard knocks. All the preaching didn't help Bristol, because she chose to ignore the wisdom that it contained. Having become exposed to that wisdom, she is being no more hypocritical than a former gang members, such as Rev. Leon Kelly here in Denver, who seek to use their own mistakes as a teaching tool for others in the hopes that they can avoid making the same mistake. Having witnessed the pain Bristol's mistake brought her daughter, Sarah Palin should increase her preaching on the subject in the hopes that the no other mother will have to witness the same pain reflected in their own daughter's eyes. Abstinence remains the only way that unintended pregnancies can be 100% avoided. Any other course of action is a calculated gamble with not only the life of the young woman, but the life of the young man and any child that happens to result from the gamble those two are taking.

..And then there's PrintSmith, who is so superior to all the rest that he is qualified, and compelled, and sanctimonious, to preach anyway...

God, it must be great to be in that glass house...

Feeling inferior LJ? Perhaps that is because your message is inferior and you know it. I can't help, nor am I responsible, for that feeling of inferiority. What I said is simply a reasoned and accurate conclusion after a thorough examination of the facts. Not a statement of superiority, a statement of fact that just also happens to be superior to the bigotry your conduct exposes.

Well, I suppose sterilization, something that was championed by such birth control icons of the left like Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood, would be 100% effective as well...........
