Let me see if I have this straight - we should not have provided air support for the NATO mission in Libya to depose a dictator, but invading Iraq virtually on our own to depose a dictator was okay?

The article said "Army base" with a capital 'A' - I assumed it was US Army, but I don't know for sure. If it wasn't US base, then how is Obama responsible for the theft of these missles?

That Fox News article references an ABC article and doesn't quote from it very accurately. Here is the original ABC News article:

Fox said the missles disappeared from an "army warehouse". This implies the US Army, but that's not the case.

According to ABC the missles disappeared from various Libyan warehouses. They were not US made missles, but Russian made (not that it's important). Reports of the disappearance go back to over 6 months ago, just as the Libyan uprisings began.

This doesn't really have anything to do with Obama, unless you think he should of had the US actively try to stop the uprisings.

I seem to recall a certain candidate pledging to his faithful that he was going to end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan... I don't remember him saying anything about starting a new war so I can't say he lied about not starting new wars. His goal during the campaign was to apply hope and change to the world, I just wish he had been pressed for the details up front so we knew what he meant by hope and change. BTW, Club Gitmo is still open...

How about the dictators like Assad who was killing the protestors? Why did Obama pick Libya? Air support? The first 419 Missiles of the first 421 fired were fired by American Planes and ships. Why not Iran during their protests? What was so important about Libya? Or was it convenient during the same week that he released his ( real or phony ) Birth certificate, and got Osama Bin Laden, and drew attention away from the Birth Certificate. How come the Left who are so Anti-War, defends his going into Libya, but can't stop complaining about Bush in Iraq and Afghanistan? Oh, Afghanistan is now Obama's war, isn't it?

He didn't go into Libya. He gave US air support to an air campaign headed by NATO or the UN - take your pick - It's not a new war, as much as the right wingnuts try to spin it that way.

Of course, none of these ramblings by you or I change the fact that this is not Obama's fault that the missles have been stolen.

In 2003 Libya agreed to rid itself of all WMD and MTCR-class missiles and associated facilities and programs. They allowed unrestricted UN access to their facilities to back up their declarations.

As of 2006, the BUSH administration proclaimed that Libya had rid itself of both WMD's and MTCR-class missiles and removed Libya from the state sponsors of terrorist list and normalized relations.

Thanks Wayn-O for your wonderful research abilities. Since you are a journalist it is expected. But I wonder if you were trying to clarify things or just being the normal as***** that you always are, considering the fact that I didn't specify that it was started by a U.N. resolution, but the actual mission was under NATO control. I feel terrible that I didn't get it perfect for you. But somehow I knew you would always be there to chastise me.

I have already let me feelings for the U.N. be known. Now on to NATO. NATO is pretty much us. Sure the French and British are involved but from the statistics it is the U.S. no matter how you spin it, that's why it has been called a non-war. How wonderful is that for the Left, not calling it a war?
