Michelle looks mad that she's having to shop at Target as part of the PR stunt....

You really think she shopped at target just like everyone else?
With a photographer and secret service there?
What a bunch of propaganda.
I am not saying she does not have a right to be a "regular" person but if she really were there to be regular, few would know about it and there would not have been photos.
What is the purpose of this visit to Target?
I cannot believe what some people will fall for or give credit for just because their party does it.
I have news for you Obamas,we are not falling for it.
These constant photo ops are so obvious.

I'd rather all our first ladies not shop at target, or anywhere else. The security necessary drives the cost way up. Just realize you are the first lady, and shop online. There is no reason to go out to a place like this.

Any first lady who does this is doing it for the photo op only, and this applies to both parties, just so you know I'm not picking on this current one.

Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!

Everyone knows how much security and planning is involved in a little trip like this. I can understand the desire to feel a little normal and mix in with the "folks" for once, but it's not just some spontaneous event...it was planned and there was more of a purpose than just picking up some cheap stuff. All part of the campaign they are so good at.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Agree with both the last posts.
There was no reason except to get some pictures.
The first lady does not need to dress down and go to target.
I find it interesting again that people buy into this but they probably are going to.

I find it interesting that some people see a conspiracy in this, too.

The store manager said he didn't even know she was in the store until she was leaving -- it was that low key. You think if she had arrived in a big entourage someone would have noticed the hubbub in the parking lot?

An AP photographer happened across her at the store as she was checking out (with her wallet in hand) and took the photos. She was obviously trying to hide who she was. It was not a photo op.

The SS was so low key the store manager didn't even know what was going on until after.

NWWM, few DID know about it and the two photos were after the fact, as she was leaving.

In the 2008 presidential campaign, Mrs. Obama proudly proclaimed herself "more of a Target shopper," saying she preferred the store to Wal-Mart.

It's not uncommon to see AP reporters with camera in hand at Target, just in case someone "big" happens to pop in for a shopping spree. Gotta cover every possibility right? Sorry wayne, I just can't buy it today.
