Question for the Cain supporters

OK, serious question here. What EXACTLY is it about Cain that makes you support him and think he is the best candidate to help fix our economy and is also the best candidate to deal with foreign and military issues?

Just curious, as most of what I here is people saying that he is likeable and a good speaker. So is Obama, so I really want to know what it is that you guys support in him? And not that he is not a lifeloong politician. 99% of the country is that. I don't want to hear what he IS NOT. Hell, he isn't a serial rapist or a murderer either but that doesn't mean he will make a great President. What I want to hear is what he IS and what you think he WILL DO based upon his past, that makes you think he can be a great President.

Maybe you can change my mind as well.

1) Business background.
2) Charisma, I admit it.
3) Varied background, can roll with the punches and a good self made story.

What I don't like about Perry? He seems like a opportunist, originally a Democrat, then decided it would be easier to win elections in Texas as a Republican. Not a true believer. Varies his posistions based on polling.

Fair enough. SO those are the 3 things he would run against Obama on?

Good point. Is this enough for Cain to beat Obama? Personally I think this election will be more Obama's to lose. If I was choosing the Republican who has the best chance to beat Obama, I would have to choose Romney or Huntsman. Both would appeal to the important independent voters.

Perry could also win, but he has elements of the wacked out craziness of Michelle Bachman.

I wasn't going to make this post about Perry but he definitely isn't as crazy as Bachmann. And he has a proven track record better than any other candidate.

And what worries me is that they are saying the economy could be slightly recovering by then and obama will run on, 'see it is working' but I need 4 more years. As was shown by out 2.5% GDP growth last month. That was a pretty big jump. Let's see if it sticks. And he will have pulling out of Iraq and Osama and Lybia for his libs and some Indi's, but Lybia might really hurt him depending upon what happens.

Someone asked if we thought Cain was serious about actually becoming President. I can't find that thread but more and more it is looking like no.

Look at this He has not campaigned in Iowa or NH in weeks and now he said he plans to "dial back" his campaign and media appearances in order to avoid missteps.

He said he blames it on a grueling schedule? Serious? How does he plan to run a country when that takes a lot more time and energy?

I just don't think he is really serious about it.

Wrong thread. Please merge my last post with the correct thread that asked if Cain was serious. I couldn't find it. Thanks.

Whether he is or not, the people being polled seem to be serious about him. I think that both Clinton and Obama did not start out as serious candidates but were just taking a test run to lay the ground work for a later election and ended up filling a vacuum.
