Rabbi protests park district's refusal to permit menorah at Lake House

A Jewish community leader is protesting the park district's refusal to authorize placement of a decorative, 8-foot-tall menorah on the grounds of the Evergreen Lake House to celebrate the beginning of the Jewish festival of Hanukkah on Dec. 20.

If the park district allows a Christmas tree on the property, it should also make room for a menorah, and has done so in the past, says Rabbi Levi Brackman, executive director of Judaism in the Foothills, a Jewish outreach organization.

So, the Rabbis are not allowed to express their celebratory symbols-of-the-season? Are we worried that the Hindus, Muslims and/or atheists might have to be allowed? If you're going to deny the Jewish contingent, perhaps the Christmas stuff needs to go too...?

I think it should all go.

Why is it allowed in the White House but not Evergreen?

That's a good question... Perhaps someone should ask the Evergreen Park & Rec District...or the City of Denver...

But, hey, you got to use a picture of "Obama" in a post...even when it's irrelevant.

No big deal. Someone just needs to remind President Obama not to bring his Menorah with him when he visits Evergreen.

You have a problem with a picture showing President Obama with a Menorah?

Yes, I'm sure he'll need to be reminded of that....

Particularly when it has nothing to do with Obama, or the White House, or the Feds...but the City of Denver...

You're right... No big deal... In fact, totally irrelevant deal.

The analogy was valid. Your original question was in regards to displays of religious symbols in the public sector. Pine in the Grass was showing that even the White House and our President has respect for these symbols and comparing that respect with the obvious lack of respect in Evergreen. But you're a blind partisan attack hack who is not capable of seeing those facts. You look so F'king foolish.
