There are many people out there who participate in all sorts of eccentric activities (S&M, odd political groups, or strange spiritual organizations) who, because they did not get compensation for these activities nor were they filmed, go unquestioned. How many other teachers dress up in leather with a ball gag and bend over a wooden horse waiting to get whipped at their favorite fetish club every weekend? Do you care? Because I bet there are more than you think.

I would have no problem with a male or female ex-porn star (or even an active porn star) teaching my children. If that person attempted to introduce that topic into the classroom I would find that inappropriate, but offhand, I don't see that as something that would normally happen. I don't brag to anyone on 285 Bound about my wonderful sexual exploits and insatiable sexual appetite, and why would a porn entertainer do that in the classroom.

Of course, there would be some situations (such as a private school) where they could have a right to deny anyone they want employment as a teacher, but in a public school situation, their employment should be based on their merits as a teacher, not how well they give a hand job.

Heck, we know that they hire pedophiles to teach, why shouldn't a former porn star be allowed to volunteer their time to read them a few stories and help them learn to read? If you employed her helping a bunch of adolescent males improve their skills, I can all but promise you they would be paying close attention to her while she was there. . . . .

You have to actually have had "wonderful sexual exploits" in order to brag about them.

Please give me a link to a situation where a school hire a person that they KNEW was a pedophile? I'll wait.

While it may seem to be hypocritical to okay teachers who may have habits as kinky as the kinkiest and most notorious porn star, "seem to be" are the operative words.

I could care less what someone does in their private life, but there IS a risk to children in hiring someone who is carrying on in a public scandalous way by the standards of the majority of society. If only in the lack of good sense being demonstrated.

Ok.. you may be right. Give me some examples of yours, and I'll see if mine were really "wonderful" or not. If you're into it, you can reply in a PM! Thanks for the offer!

AV, the distinction here is that their sex life is not private. Are you guys crazy? I would not be okay with it.

Exactly. I don't care if someone poops green turds three times a day but I don't want someone teaching my kid who poops green turds three times a day and posts pictures of it to the internet on You Tube videos.

My son had a teacher that was a Denver Broncos Cheer leader when he was in the 1st grade. She made sure everyone knew it and had her pic in the classroom. It was weird.
