And you wouldn't recognize a joke if it bit you on your ass.

Your propositions are getting you nowhere with me.

Go back through the thread and get a... clue. It was humorous banter... I'm certainly not lusting after you or anyone else on this forum. Now give yourself a little pat on your head.

Oh, you think you're the only one who can make a joke?

Be sure to give your little head a pat.

LLIB wrote: In my "perfect" world, I would be able to shop around for my kid's teacher just like I would when I need bodywork on my car, or a doctor, dentist, barber, etc. . Given a lineup of teachers with resumes, I think most people would not be picking the porn star first. Just as guess.

1. You do get to shop around for your teacher, there are 10,000's of options. If you want the public welfare, just like the guy on food stamps, you cannot buy anything you want, only what is approved by the program. The rest of us, who are not on welfare, can buy just about any food we want....just like the parents who are not on welfare can pick any teacher they can buy.

2. I would guess that about 50% of the women I know would have left their husbands in the last 30 years if it were not for money. By the way, the other 50% already did leave, for whatever reason. So they are just like the prostitute or the porn star, no? Go ahead and deny this one girls.

3. I find it odd that anyone that would send their kids to a public school, where they don't get to pick what is best for their child, pretty much gets whatever they get. You want something for free, don't expect the best or even something good.

We got to pick our leaders, and look at how good we do that, do you think parents will put more effort into picking their kids' teachers? Either way, those on welfare don't get to pick what they get, the rest of us do.

Public education is NOT free. I have paid more than my share of taxes to fund public schools. And it's not welfare. A publication education is one of our rights.

I very much like the way LLIB put it:

"I'm no prude, but I don't see much of a difference when it comes to hookers and porn stars. Both get paid for sex and I'm guessing they both have "issues" that took them to that low end profession. I'm sure there are many ex hookers and porn stars that currentlly teach kids in some way, but given the choice for MY kids, I would prefer a teacher that had more self respect."

It doesn't matter where a kid goes to school, there will be some lowlife who slips through the screening process. But a known porn "actress" or "actor?" No, thanks. They made their choice top get into that field, so live with the consequences. Kids deserve better.

A thread like this is exactly why we should have vouchers. School choice. Any school who would wants to hire a x-porn star to teach may do so. Parents could talk with their voucher, by taking it to that school, or going to another one. Schools would hire better teachers (regardless of past profession) if they are high quality, and bring success to the students of the school.

Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!

This is why a person should be judge on their ability. Why do you give a hoot if a person was a porn entertainer or not? If that person is qualified as a teacher, and her record as a teacher is good, what business is it of yours what her last job was? And if you don't want her teaching your little prince and princess, then you pay for a private school.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

I have always been in favor of vouchers. They need some competition. As far as I am concerned a school is only has good as the teacher you get. They have no standards.

Seems to me that if you had a porn star teacher, at least at the high school level, that internet photos and videos of that teacher would be circulating all over among the students. Wouldn't that be a bit disruptive in the classroom?

As long as the teacher, whether ex-porn star, former drug addict, or reformed gang member, uses their background as a teaching tool for my kids...I really do not care.

Yes, there could be distractions...but there are distractions in every walk of life...part of my job as a parent was to teach my kids to deal correctly with these distractions and continue forward with whatever they are doing. Another part of my job as a parent is to allow my children experiences, even if I didn't think they were the "best" experiences, and allow them to chose how to deal with these experiences...it helps them to learn how to deal with the world and everything in it.

I am not going to judge someone on their past exploits or experiences...what will it solve or change?
